I’m a pharmacist… but I’m also the accountant, the marketing department, the formulator, the billing expert, the IT guy, the inventory manager, the HR department and, occasionally, the janitor. 🧹😂

When you own a small business, every title is your title.

Thanks for supporting the little guy in McKinney. It means more than you know.

Tell me how many hats are you wearing this week? 👇

Where does your $100 actually go?

I study at local businesses in Maine and then every $100 spent at a locally owned business put $45 back into the local economy. Big box chain, it was just $14.

That’s the difference between money that leaves town and money that pays your neighbors, support local suppliers, and sponsors the little league team.

When you fill your prescriptions at an independent pharmacy, you’re not just getting a Pharmacist who knows your name you’re keeping dollars working here in McKinney.

Transferring it it’s easy. Call us or tap the link in our bio, and we’ll handle the rest.

Helping Mom or Dad with Medicare this fall? This one's for you. 💛

If you're the family member who handles the pill organizer, the refills AND the paperwork, open enrollment is your moment. Here's what to gather before you compare plans together:

+ Their Annual Notice of Change letter (the one from September)
+ A current medication list with doses (we'll print it for you)
+ Their Medicare card
+ A list of their doctors and specialists

Then compare side by side at Medicare.gov/plan-compare, or get free, unbiased help from Texas HICAP at 1-800-252-9240.

And with your parent's OK, we're happy to loop you in on their pharmacy care here in McKinney. One pharmacist, one record, and now one less thing on your plate.

Tag a sibling who owes you one. 😉

I lose $.88 filling this Medicare prescription, and that’s before paying anyone to fill it

Drug cost: $1.53
PBM pays: $.99 (only $.10 is the dispensing fee
DIR fee: -$.34
What we keep: $.65

The PBM sets one of those numbers. Independent pharmacies like ours can’t keep absorbing losses like this, and that’s how communities lose their pharmacies.

Medicare open enrollment starts tomorrow. Please don't put it on autopilot. 🚦

Plans change every single year, even if you don't. Before Dec 7, check these 3 things (swipe for the checklist ➡️):

1️⃣ Are all your medications still covered, at the same tier?
2️⃣ Is your pharmacy still in network, and "preferred"? That can change your copay.
3️⃣ What will it really cost for YOUR drug list: premium, deductible and copays, not just the plan's highlights?

We can't pick a plan for you (and nobody at a pharmacy should). But we can print your complete medication list with doses so comparing plans on Medicare.gov is fast and accurate.

For free, unbiased help choosing a plan, call Texas HICAP at 1-800-252-9240.

Save this for when you sit down to compare.

This is a 30 g batch of hormone cream, made it for exactly one person.

Here at Medrocs, we compound menopause, creams, and gels tailored to what your provider prescribes:
+ any dose, not just the strengths that come off a shelf
+ combinations like estradiol and testosterone in one formula
+ cream or gel, whichever base works best for your skin

We dispense them in a Topi-Click. Each click measures out the same amount, so your dose is accurate and easy every time. No more guessing what “pea-sized” means.

Because every formula is personal, we make small batches, often just 30 g at a time. That’s what custom really looks like.

Compounded medications aren’t FDA approved, and they aren’t the right fit for everyone. That’s exactly why we want to hear from you: what questions or concerns do you have about compounding drop them in the comments, and I’ll answer them in an upcoming video.

UTI. Again?! Your hormones might be part of the story. 😩

After menopause, lower estrogen changes the tissue and the "good" bacteria down there, which can make UTIs more likely to keep coming back.

Here's what a lot of women never hear: the American Urological Association's 2025 guideline says clinicians should recommend vaginal estrogen for peri- and postmenopausal women with recurrent UTIs, as long as there's no reason they can't use it.

It's a low dose (cream, tablet or ring) that works locally, right where it's needed.

If you're on your third round of antibiotics this year, bring this up with your provider. And if you're prescribed it, we'll show you exactly how to use it (no awkwardness, promise).

Send this to the friend who practically has a standing UTI appointment.

Hormone therapy comes in more varieties than your coffee order. ☕

Patch, pill, gel, spray, cream, ring... it's a lot! Each works a little differently, and the right one depends on your health history, your symptoms and your lifestyle. That's a conversation for you and your provider.

Swipe for the quick tour ➡️

The last slide is our specialty: compounding. Sometimes a standard product isn't the right fit (a dye or filler allergy, a dose that isn't made commercially). Your provider can prescribe a custom preparation, and we make it right here in McKinney. Compounded medications aren't FDA-approved, so we'll always talk you through what that means.

Save this before your next appointment.

The FDA says estrogen patches remain available. Meanwhile, I just spent two weeks searching for one specific patch.

And when I finally found a Climate patch? The insurance said nope, not covered, fill this one instead.

Here’s what the headlines miss: the shortage isn’t only about whether patches exist. Every time a patient has to switch, we’re also juggling:
+ what her insurance will actually cover
+ what she prefers
+ what works for her body: the adhesive, skin reactions, the right dose
+ A prescriber may need to sign off on the change

finding a patch is hard. Finding the right patch, covered, and in stock, is the real job.
