“I had to learn what love is not so that I could learn what love truly is”
Many perspectives on this as I wrote this years ago.
The strength to find the love within you, for yourself, your inner child… to be able to go to the depths of your soul, to remove the hell, to reach a point that it no longer keeps you captive…
To find the peace, the heaven within you, to grow, blossom, to shine and not be afraid, to remove the fear of all the what “ifs” the should “ofs”.
To extend the love of what you have grown, so that love can be an extension to others who may be in those depths of hell you once have been…to help others see the light again…
I see you, I hear you, you are not alone. How do I know? Because I have been in the dark before, to the depths of the underground that wanted to keep me buried. When you get so far buried the weight becomes too much to bare…you have nothing left but to surrender. Let go, collapse into yourself, to allow the weight to to fall away. That is when life becomes lighter. Your body becomes lighter. You begin to see the light again. You become the light. You become love. A love that no one, nothing, can ever take away from you. A love that you grow, nurture and protect because walking through the darkness was the only way to find the way back to the light.
I sometimes laugh inside when others have asked if I am afraid of the dark. I used to be but now I see that the dark is my friend. If it wasn’t for the darkness, I wouldn’t have become who I am. What I do know is…I set boundaries with the darkness to not allow it to consume me. I thank the darkness for providing me the shelter I needed until finding the ability, the inner strength to get back up and move forward on my journey. Allowing the light and the dark to show me the way to return to self, a return to balance.
That is love…raw, intentional, forgiving, unapologetic, nonjudgmental, unconditional…
🌟one last note, A return to self is not selfish it actually is the complete opposite. Many have been programmed to believe otherwise 😉
