Cancer is not clear cut.

And a phone call can change the course of your care.

Cancer is not the first thing you think of when something doesn’t feel right. Whether you have a history of cancer or not.

You may think the problem you’re experiencing is something, when in fact, it can be something totally different than what you thought the problem was.

Trust your gut.
Make the call to your OBGYN.
Discuss what you’re experiencing.
Ask questions and learn.

Learning about your body’s changes and placing a phone call to your healthcare provider can make a difference.

You are not alonešŸŽ€šŸ‘ššŸ©·

šŸŽ€ October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! šŸŽ€
This is your reminder from Hibiscus Women’s Center to make their breast health a priority. šŸ’—
Mammograms can detect breast cancer early—sometimes before there are any noticeable signs or symptoms. Talk with your healthcare provider about when and how often you should be screened based on your age and individual risk factors.
šŸ“ž Need to reach us? Call 321-724-2229.
You’ll be greeted by Elise, our AI-powered phone assistant, who can help identify what you need and connect you with the right member of our team. 🌺
Screen today for a brighter tomorrow. šŸŽ€

It’s 6 AM and you’re Googling ā€œI am 16 weeks pregnant and I feel a breast lump.ā€

You have been told that a new breast lump during pregnancy is probably ā€œjust hormonesā€ and that imaging may not be safe until your baby is born.

But what if you could feel confident knowing when a breast change deserves a conversation with your provider — and understand that medically necessary imaging CAN be performed during pregnancy?

As a Registered Nurse with OBGYN and postpartum experience for nearly 15 years, I want you to know that pregnancy can make your breasts feel fuller, lumpier, and more tender — but a new or persistent lump should not automatically be blamed on pregnancy.

If you notice something new, tell your OB or midwife.

Breast ultrasound is commonly part of the evaluation of clinically indicated!

šŸŽƒ Don’t panic.
šŸŽƒ Don’t Google yourself into a spiral.
šŸŽƒ And don’t assume it’s ā€œjust pregnancy.ā€

Getting a lump checked does not mean your provider thinks it’s cancer. It means you’re taking a new change seriously enough to find out what it is.

Comment or DM ā€œLUMPā€ and I’ll send you a simple list of questions to ask your provider about a new breast lump during pregnancy and normal verse abnormal changes to look for.
