I finally got to see my foot yesterday for the first time since surgery!! Doctor took off my dressings, removed my stitches and put me back in a surgical boot. I love wearing boots but this is definitely the wrong style for me!!
Harmonee brought me to my appointment and asked if she could come in. I asked her if she wanted to and her response was "yeah I want to see your stinky foot, but I don't want to smell it" This kid is amazing! She is a busy busy college student and still going above in beyond to come out and check on me and the animals! I am truly blessed.
The first thing i said when the dressing came off....ewe my skin is so gross!! After almost two weeks being completely wrapped my skin is dry, scaly, itchy and just kinda gross honestly. I have struggled with my skin for years. As someone who has developed skincare products made to truly heal and restore sick, unhealthy skin I know I can fix this quickly.
So what am I using. First I'm using one of our luxurious goat milk soaps to clean everything up. And yes...even my doctors approve...our soap is gentle enough even for gently cleaning my surgical areas. Next I am using our whipped tallow balm....my favorite is the sacred grace...scented with lavender, Lemongrass, Frankincense and mhrr...not only does it help repair the skin ...it also smells amazing!!

One of our very favorite events that we do every year is the Hytta Autumn Market at Seeger Farms near Red Lake Falls, MN where I grew up. It's so much fun to bring the baby goats and share all their crazy shenanigans with so many people. As I'm recovering from foot surgery and facing weeks of being completely non-weight-bearing, life and business look a whole lot different than I'm used to.
For someone who is used to working hard, being independent, and constantly on the go, being forced to slow down has been incredibly challenging.
But here's what I want you to know…
Every single order that comes through means more than just another sale.
It means I can keep paying the bills. It means I can keep my little business going. It means I have a little less worry about falling behind while my body takes the time it needs to heal.
And more than anything, it feels like LOVE. ❤️
When you're a small business owner, there isn't paid medical leave. The bills don't stop just because you have to. And honestly, that can be a pretty scary feeling.

Well… I survived foot surgery! 🤠🦶😂
The good news: Surgery is DONE. 🙌
The bad news: I’m now completely non-weight-bearing for weeks, which seems like an extremely unreasonable request for a woman who doesn’t know how to sit still. 😂
Apparently my new hobbies include scooter racing through the house, strategically planning bathroom trips, dropping things I can’t pick up, and staring angrily at objects that are three feet out of reach.
My independence has officially left the building. 🤦‍♀️
I’m sore, drugged, tired, stubborn, and already plotting all the things I’m going to do the second I’m allowed back on two feet. 😂
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me, checked on me, helped me, and offered to help over the next several weeks. I have a feeling I’m going to need every one of you—because “asking for help” is apparently another new hobby I didn’t sign up for. ❤️
Now begins the great adventure of keeping this cowgirl OFF her feet.
Pray for my healing… but maybe pray even harder for the people who have to put up with me.
