Do you realize that when you take a vitamin D3 supplement, it is not the same as the one you make in your body? We make vitamin D from getting UVB rays on our skin that convert cholesterol to pre-vitamin D, which is then thermally isomerized into vitamin D. The correct name of vitamin D is cholecalciferol. Notice the name has a huge clue for the cholesterol that is used. Just another reason to get into the sun. Also, people taking statins may have a harder time making vitamin D because of lower cholesterol levels. This is a huge reason to maybe rethink about what level you want your cholesterol to be.
Have you heard all the doctors saying to stay out of the sun especially midday? Well UVB rays are only strong enough to help you make significant amounts of vitamin D from around 10AM-2PM depending on where you live. So, you need midday sun to make vitamin D. This is incredibly important to your health! Everyone needs to get outside midday with bare skin, so take your lunch outside and show as much skin as possible. Yes, I’m saying no sunblock! If you have VDR gene variations then you need to stay longer in the sun and potentially show more skin. Always be careful at first so you don’t burn. How much sun exposure you need also depends on your skin color. Lighter skin makes it faster and darker makes it slower. Please realize that you cannot supplement this process! Summertime is the best and most efficient time to make vitamin D depending on where you live so get outside as much as possible.

I’m always so surprised at how many people believe conventional medicine doctors over doctors who look deeper and question what they were taught. I’m still surprised by people who can’t open their minds to the immense evidence that our healthcare system is just not treating us well or right. Here is one of the great Doctors who questions and learns there is so much more to know to be able to heal someone. Thank goodness more and more people are becoming open to the truth.

So good to see another study showing high cholesterol does NOT mean you are creating plaque or that you will have a heart attack. Please see this study that shows prior plaque can mean more plaque and is the greater concern. These are people on a high fat diet who have high cholesterol and do not have any plaque. Getting a CAC or CTA is important to see if you do have plaque. If there’s no plaque, then high cholesterol can be just fine.

What many don’t talk about is that your genes matter here. If you have the variations that cause high cholesterol from saturated fat, it is best to eat a lower saturated fat diet. How low again depnde on yiur genes. Also, remember plaque doesn’t form unless cholesterol is oxidized and/or your artery walls are damaged. So again, the main concern should be oxidation and inflammation. So many don’t talk about this yet they talk about high cholesterol. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to talk about one without the other. We have to look at heart disease and cholesterol in a more accurate way! As always, this is not medical advice. It is advice to find a doctor who understands this.🙂
