Clement was just 15 years old when he contracted malaria and became temporarily paralyzed. The teenager was unable to walk or even sit up when we brought him to Boram Hospital and his parents were very concerned. Doctors quickly started treatment for Clement and within just a few days, he began to recover drastically. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to share the gospel with Clement and his family and to have witnessed Clement walking once more as he and his family returned home!

What an epic day! 🎉

Our dream team in Wewak, including Matt Condon and Dr. Georgina, quickly responded to three separate emergency calls today, saving the lives of three young women who had been bitten by venomous snakes.

Today was also a special day as it marked Dr. Georgina’s first day back at work. The Sepik is truly blessed to have her back, bringing hope and healing to our community. Welcome back, Dr. Georgina! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who supports Samaritan Aviation, making days like this possible. Together, we’re making a difference! 🌟✈️

Tommilah was at home when a large earthquake caused the house to become unstable and collapse with her inside it. When Tommilah was pulled out from the debris, it was discovered that she had suffered from a spinal injury, and Samaritan Aviation responded to the call to bring her to the hospital. We are so grateful for the time that we had to share the gospel with Tommilah and to see her return home healthy and strong!

Delcy was afraid when we flew her into Boram Hospital to receive treatment for major pregnancy complications. Delcy's village was very isolated and everything around her at the hospital was new and strange. One thing Delcy mentioned to our staff was that she had never seen a restroom or a shower before and she had no idea how to use them. Despite her initial fear of all the unknowns, Delcy told us how grateful she was that the Lord had provided Samaritan Aviation to help her get the treatment and care that she needed. We loved getting to know Delcy and seeing her go home healthy and with many stories for her family back in her village!

Neira was six months pregnant when she contracted malaria. While she was ill, she began to experience severe abdominal pain, and the healthcare worker attending to her was concerned that she may be going into preterm labor. Thankfully, after being evaluated at Boram Hospital, it was determined that Neira was not experiencing preterm labor, and after just a few days of treatment and monitoring, she was able to return home healthy once more!

Usena had been sick for several weeks, but she had suddenly started to take a turn for the worse when we received the call to bring her to the hospital. Usena was suffering from cerebral malaria and was so ill upon admission to the hospital that she could not even lift her head. After several days of treatment, Usena began to recover and regain her strength. We are praising the Lord for his healing of this little girl and that she was able to return home healthy once more!

Lama had been suffering from cerebral malaria for quite some time and had previously undergone treatment for the condition. He and his family thought that Lama had recovered, but then one day when Lama and a friend were out on their canoes, he suddenly passed out and fell into the lake. If it were not for the friend that had accompanied him, Lama would’ve drowned. Lama once again underwent treatment for cerebral malaria at Boram hospital and returned home after few weeks!

While trying to care for her two children alone after her husband abandoned her, Elma became severely ill with tuberculosis. When we brought her in to Boram hospital, she was bedridden and feeling as though no one cared for her, even God. After many prayers and spending time reading the Bible to her and talking about God‘s great love for her, Elma’s faith and body began to strengthen. After several weeks in the hospital, Elma was able to return home to her two children, her trust in the Lord’s faithfulness to her renewed and strengthened!

Recently, we picked up a 14-year-old girl named Hansela who had been sick with malaria for several days and was rapidly deteriorating. Upon arrival at the hospital, Hansela received x-rays that showed that she also had tuberculosis. Hansela was immediately placed on tuberculosis and malaria medications and within a few days she recovered enough to return home!

We recently flew in a young pregnant woman named Georgina who had been suffering from preeclampsia. Once at the hospital, Georgina had to wait several days to undergo a c-section due to a lack of supply in her blood type. Eventually, members of Georgina’s family who shared her blood type traveled from their village to donate blood and Georgina was able to undergo a c-section and safely deliver her baby. We loved getting to know Georgina and seeing her and her newborn return home healthy!

Anslom was bitten by a venomous snake and was beginning to show advanced signs of envenomation when we reached the village to pick him up. A nurse administered anti-venom in the village just before the flight back to Wewak and then doctors and nurses continued to monitor and treat him once we arrived at Boram Hospital. During his stay at the hospital, we had the opportunity to sit with Anslom and his parents and tell them the story of Jesus Christ. We are so grateful to have spent time with Anslom and his family and to see him go home healthy again!

While talking with her and her sister-in-law during her stay at the hospital, we discovered that Wilma was a Christian! As she slowly healed and regained her strength, we visited with Wilma daily, praying and reading God's word. We are so thankful for the Lord's healing of Wilma and that she was able to return to her family healthy!

Mortis was checking his wild boar traps when his dogs chased a boar right into Mortis! The boar attacked and bit Mortis on his back and legs, and Mortis ran back to his village for help. Mortis' family brought him to the nearby health center. Still, his wounds were too substantial for them to treat, so Samaritan Aviation was called promptly, and we brought Mortis to Boram Hospital. When preparing to return home, Mortis expressed to us how grateful he was to the Lord for sending Samaritan Aviation to help him and his recovery!
We are grateful to have the opportunity and resources to continue saving lives like Mortis.

Gloria had been experiencing severe abdominal pain, and she and her sister decided she needed to go to a medical center. So at 3 a.m. Gloria and her sister got in their canoe and traveled until 6 p.m. that evening to reach the district health center. After we had received a call from the health center and flown Gloria to Boram Hospital, we found out that Gloria had ruptured her appendix.
