NATIVE HEALTH thanks Rep. Ruben Gallego for helping to extend the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) coverage to urban Indian health organizations. This helps UHOs, like NATIVE HEALTH, from having to divert significant resources away from critical medical and health services, to pay exorbitant insurance costs.

It has now passed both the House and Senate and is headed to the President’s desk to be signed into law. Thank you, Representative Gallego!

Virtual 5K Walk In Your Mocs
Saturday, December 19, 2020

NATIVE HEALTH is encouraging all urban Maricopa County Native American/Alaska Natives to walk in your tribal moccasins with purpose to Celebrate Life and reflect on what our ancestors have endured for us to be here.

Countdown to Saturday🌶️🌶️🌶️ In addition to our signature Campo Dorado Landrace Chile Powder, The Crazy Chile Farm booth at Saturday's Festival is proud to offer our latest product: Ute Mountain Ute Blue Cornmeal. The Ute Mountain Tribe grows this beautiful corn at their Tribal Farm in SW Colorado. Then, we mill, package, and label it in our own production area at the Farm in Mesa. 1.5 lb. bags of freshly milled (with recipes) is now available for $6/bag. This product has really good flavor!!
Countdown to Saturday🌶️🌶️🌶️ The Crazy Chile Farm is best known for chile (it's our middle name!). What is less known is that 50% of our growing surface is used to produce seed stock of rare and endangered species of Indigenous Native American corn, beans, and squash, especially corn. Over the years we have grown Flor del Rio popcorn, Chapalote pinole corn, Yoeme Blue, and Tohono O'odham 60-Day corn. Examples of several of those varieties will be on display at the Harvest Festival Saturday.
Countdown to Saturday🌶️🌶️🌶️ The Annual Chile Harvest Festival kicks off at 9am on Saturday in the Transfiguration parking lot (flyer attached). If you wish to enter a "crock-pot creation" in the Chile Cookoff, bring your precooked entry to the building on the north side of the parking lot between 8:15 and 9am. As soon as the judging is completed (usually between 9:30 and 10am), $100 will be awarded to the winner. Then, for $1, visitors can buy a full bowl of the chile of their choice and enjoy it with the music from the festival stage. Judging is by Native Health's own Danny Nunez. Hot Dogs, Burgers, and fresh-roasted green chiles will be available at the nearby BBQ.
