This past Saturday, Tulane Urology was proud to take part in the Man Up! Men’s Health Event at East Jefferson General Hospital

It was a great morning dedicated to men’s health and prostate cancer awareness, bringing together members of the community, healthcare professionals, and special guests. Tulane Urology faculty and residents were on hand throughout the event, with Dr. Raju Thomas and Dr. Jorge Caso addressing the audience. Dr. Caso also gave an educational presentation on prostate health, including common myths and misconceptions.

Former New Orleans Saints Rickey Jackson and Bobby Hebert, along with other Saints alumni, also joined the event to help raise awareness and encourage men to take an active role in their health.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. Tulane Urology was glad to be part of an important morning of education, awareness, and community engagement.

What do urology residency programs actually look for in applicants?

In this clip from the Tulane Urology Med Student Lecture Series, Julie Riley, MD, MBA, FACS, shares what programs consider when evaluating students during away rotations — including professionalism, dependability, coachability, and whether you would be someone they want as a future colleague.

Different sites. Different experiences.
One Tulane Urology Residency.

Tulane Urology residents train across a diverse network of hospitals and healthcare settings throughout New Orleans, with each site offering a different part of the residency experience.

At our four main training sites, residents gain broad clinical and surgical experience at East Jefferson General Hospital, care for complex cases and take on increasing responsibility at University Medical Center New Orleans, develop expertise in pediatric urology at Manning Family Children’s, and care for Veterans across a wide range of urologic conditions and procedures at the New Orleans VA Medical Center.

Additional training at Touro, Lakeside Hospital, and LCMC Health Tulane Multispecialty (Downtown) further expands residents’ exposure to areas including men’s health, prosthetics, female urology, and outpatient specialty care.

Together, these experiences provide residents with broad exposure to patients, conditions, and approaches to urologic care throughout their training.
