Here’s some insane stats on gambling:
1. Roughly 7.5–10.5 million American adults have a gambling problem. About 2.5 million meet criteria for a severe gambling problem, with another 5–8 million experiencing mild-to-moderate problems.
2. Americans legally wagered nearly $167 BILLION on sports in 2025 alone. Sportsbooks kept about $17 billion of that as revenue. Put differently: bettors collectively lost roughly $46 million per day to legal sportsbooks. And that doesn’t include all tribal or illegal betting. (I overstated this in my video)
3. People with gambling disorder have among the highest su***de risks of any behavioral addiction. Research has found that roughly 1 in 5 people seeking treatment for gambling disorder report having attempted su***de, while suicidal thoughts are substantially more common.
That’s one reason gambling addiction is treated as a serious mental-health disorder rather than simply a problem with money or self-control.
If this is you, start the healing process now. The sooner the better
