🌊 Flashback Highlight: Making Waves for a Great Cause!

We’re looking back at an incredible Tidal Wave Charity Day, where Sunrise Community locations came together for a day of giving, community spirit, and a little friendly competition! 🚗💦

Our teams showed up ready to see which location could bring in the most donations, all while supporting our mission and the persons supported we proudly serve. Knoxville even brought the fun with music and a dunk tank!

We’re grateful to Tidal Wave Car Wash for their partnership and to everyone who stopped by, donated, and cheered on our teams. Take a look at some of our favorite moments from an amazing day! 💙

💙 Looking Back on a Meaningful Moment at Sunrise

Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to celebrate a special milestone at our Les Leech Campus.

Chair Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez and Representative Jim Mooney Jr. presented Sunrise Community with an Appropriation Check to support the renovation of the 50-year-old kitchen at our Les Leech Campus, where 112 persons supported reside.

Our CEO, Zach Wray, and our Chairman of the Board, Robert Coker, were there to celebrate this important moment, along with our sponsors and community partners who continue to support the work we do.

The renovated kitchen will help us continue providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for the individuals we have the fortune to serve, as well as the dedicated team who support them each day.

We’re incredibly grateful for this meaningful investment in the Les Leech Campus and for the continued support of our sponsors, community partners, and Sunrise family. 💙

Behind every milestone, every new skill, and every proud moment at Sunrise Community is a Direct Support Professional believing in someone's potential.

Our COO, Jameson Dörmann, wrote a special note to our DSPs reflecting on the priceless moments they create and the lasting difference they make every day.

Take a moment to read his complete note of gratitude, and join us in celebrating our extraordinary DSP team! 🙌✨

🎨💙 Meet the Artist Behind This Year’s DSP Recognition Week T-Shirt!

DSP Recognition Week is officially here, and we’re kicking things off by celebrating Roman Dylan Paul O’Hearn, the talented artist who created this year’s winning T-shirt design!

Roman’s artwork brings together powerful themes of support, respect, love, teamwork, and community, reminding us of the meaningful connections DSPs build with persons supported each day.

We’re so proud to share Roman’s creativity and celebrate his winning design throughout DSP Recognition Week. Thank you, Roman, for creating artwork that helps us recognize and appreciate the incredible impact of Direct Support Professionals! 💙

💙 Strengthening Our Commitment to Person-Centered Practices

Sunrise NHQ staff recently participated in a two-day Personal Outcome Measures (POM) training designed to strengthen our person-centered approach to supporting the people we serve.

The Council on Quality and Leadership's (CQL) Personal Outcome Measures (POM) is a process of discovery that helps identify the outcomes that matter most to the people we serve.

By listening to each person's goals, dreams, and aspirations, along with the people who know them best, we can provide meaningful supports that promote choice, independence, and valued lives.

At Sunrise Community, we remain committed to providing person-centered supports that empower the people we serve to achieve the outcomes that are most meaningful to them.

Connecting. Learning. Advocating. 💙

Our Sunrise Community team recently had the opportunity to attend the Family Cafe Resource Fair in Orlando, where we connected with individuals, families, and community partners to share information about the services and supports Sunrise Community provides.

Throughout the event, our team answered questions about our programs, explained the intake process, and helped families better understand available resources, including navigating the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD). We also attended informative sessions led by APD representatives and state legislators, strengthened relationships with fellow service providers, and proudly supported talented artists from the IDD community by visiting their exhibits.

A special thank you to our incredible team from Multimedia, Government Relations, Community Resources, and Intake for representing Sunrise with compassion, knowledge, and collaboration.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, we look forward to continuing to serve and support our community! 💙

💙 Welcome to South Florida, Jalisa!

We are excited to welcome Jalisa, Community Resource Specialist, as she transitions into our South Florida operations!

Jalisa has been a dedicated and compassionate member of the Sunrise team, making a meaningful impact on the persons supported and staff in Tallahassee. Her positive spirit, strong work ethic, and commitment to those we serve continue with her as she begins this next chapter.

She even shared a heartfelt poem as she said goodbye to Tallahassee, just one reflection of the care and thoughtfulness she brings to every space she’s a part of.

We are so glad to have her in South Florida and look forward to all the wonderful things ahead. Welcome, Jalisa! 🌟💙
