High standards say, "I want to do this well." Perfectionism says, "If it isn't flawless, I'm not enough."

They can look alike from the outside, but they feel very different on the inside. One motivates you. The other keeps you stuck in fear of making a mistake.

You can care deeply about your work and still allow yourself to be human.

Same behavior, two different stories. 👀
If you’ve been hurt before, a phone call in the next room can feel like a red flag. If you haven’t, it’s just a phone call.

Ever been stuck in an argument that stopped making sense a while ago, but you kept going anyway?

In Why Are We Fighting?, we talk about those moments when we repeat ourselves, stay defensive, and can't find the exit. The way out can be surprisingly simple: agree on a de-escalating codeword or behavior before the next argument happens, so you both know when it's time to pause.

Be honest: how many did you check? ✅

Being hard on yourself can look like motivation from the outside, but inside it often feels like pressure that never turns off. The good news is that self-criticism is a habit, and habits can change with awareness and practice.

A simple place to start: the next time that inner voice shows up, ask yourself, "Would I say this to someone I care about?"

💬 Tell us in the comments how many you checked, or save this post to come back to it.

We ask everyone else how they're doing. How often do we stop and answer it for ourselves?

Notice your body, your thoughts, your energy. No judgment, no fixing. Just honesty.

If your answer is "not great," that is information, not failure. And you don't have to carry it alone.

Being agreeable can feel like kindness, but when it costs you your own peace, it's worth a second look. 💙

People-pleasing often starts as a way to feel safe: if everyone is happy with me, I won't be rejected. Over time, it can leave you exhausted, resentful, and disconnected from what you actually need.

Peace isn't the absence of conflict. It's being able to be honest and still feel okay.

Saying "sorry" is easy; changing patterns takes intentional effort.

In healthy relationships, accountability isn't about performing remorse it's about:

Acknowledging impact: Understanding how your actions affected the other person.

Committing to change: Creating practical steps to break the habit.

Demonstrating consistency: Showing up differently over time.
