🤝 Building partnerships. Creating opportunities. Strengthening our community. 💙

Our Medcare Hospice team recently visited FVI School of Nursing and Technology to explore a potential partnership that would allow nursing students to complete their service hours with Medcare Hospice.

By connecting with future healthcare professionals, we’re creating opportunities to serve our community while inspiring the next generation to lead with compassion.

We look forward to building meaningful connections and welcoming future nursing professionals who share our commitment to care, comfort, and dignity. 💙

Feeling healthy is great. Staying informed about your breast health is even better.

Breast cancer doesn’t always cause noticeable symptoms in its early stages. That’s why screening mammograms matter: they can help detect breast cancer before symptoms appear.

When it comes to screening, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Your age, personal risk, and medical history can influence when you should begin and how often you should be screened.

✨ Don’t wait for a change to start the conversation. Talk with your healthcare provider about the screening options that are right for you.

Awareness gives you the power to act. 💗

Your body deserves your attention, not your fear.

Getting to know your body is a powerful first step toward taking care of your breast health.

Learn what’s normal for you. Pay attention to changes. And remember, you don’t have to figure it out alone. If you notice something new or unusual, talk with your healthcare provider.

✨ Know your body. Trust your awareness. Take action.

Because awareness isn’t about living in fear. It’s about feeling empowered to take the next step.

Awareness gives you the power to act. 💗

✨ Chaplain Spotlight ✨

For our chaplain, Orestes Macías, the call to serve began at just 17 years old when he dedicated his life to God and developed a passion for following the example of Jesus through service. After years of theological training and 25 years of ministry in Cuba, a new chapter began when he moved to the United States.

What inspired him to become a hospice chaplain? A conversation with a longtime friend who had found his calling as a chaplain. Listening to his passion sparked something within him and led him to pursue Clinical Pastoral Education and volunteer chaplaincy work in a hospital setting. There, he discovered the profound impact of presence, listening, and spiritual support.

When he entered hospice care, he found the perfect place where his faith, experience, and vocation came together. Today, he treasures every visit and serves each patient, family, and colleague with compassion and an open heart.

After all these years, he continues to answer the same calling that began in his youth. The way he serves may have changed, but the mission remains the same: to listen, accompany, and be present for those facing some of life's most vulnerable moments.

💙 Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to bringing comfort, hope, and peace to those we serve.

1 in 8 women. One important reason to know your risk. 🎀

Breast cancer risk is influenced by many factors, including age, family history, genetics, and lifestyle. While not all risk factors can be changed, understanding them can help you make informed decisions about your breast health.

💗 Know your family history and your body.
💗 Talk to your healthcare provider.
💗 Ask which screening recommendations are right for you.

Because awareness isn’t just about knowing the facts. It’s about knowing what to do with them.

Awareness gives you the power to act.

💙 Meet the doctor behind the care.

Every physician has a story that led them to medicine. For Dr. Victor Calvo, years of caring for critically ill patients eventually led him to hospice and palliative care, where he discovered that some of the most meaningful moments in medicine happen through connection, listening, and supporting patients and families through difficult decisions.

His perspective on hospice is simple but powerful:

Sometimes, less is more.

Hospice is not about giving up. It is about focusing on comfort, dignity, symptom management, and quality of life while helping patients and families understand their options.

And his advice to families considering hospice?

Start with a conversation.
Learning about hospice does not mean you have to enroll. It simply gives families the information they need to make informed decisions about their loved one's care.

Swipe through to get to know Dr. Victor Calvo, his journey, and what hospice care means to him.

At Medcare Hospice, the people behind the care matter just as much as the care itself.

💜 Today, we raise awareness for Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s is more than memory loss. It can affect communication, daily activities, behavior, and the way a person connects with the world around them.

Recognizing changes, starting conversations, and seeking professional guidance can help families better understand what is happening and explore the support available.

But beyond any diagnosis, there is always a person with a story, relationships, memories, and a life worth honoring.

This World Alzheimer’s Day, let’s choose awareness, compassion, and connection.

💜 Swipe through to learn more and share this post to help spread awareness.

Honoring every life, every day.
