🚨 PLEASE DON’T USE CHATGPT AS YOUR DOCTOR!

💔 Devastating reports of a 31-year-old woman who died after reportedly using ChatGPT to guide changes to her seizure medication are a heartbreaking reminder of the risks of relying on AI for medical decisions.

As a physician, I believe AI has incredible potential. But AI is NOT a substitute for your doctor.

⚠️ Never stop, taper, or change prescription medications based on chatbot advice without consulting your healthcare professional.

AI can help you understand medical information. It should NOT replace individualized medical care.

❤️ Use AI to ask better questions, not to make dangerous medical decisions.

💬 Have you ever used ChatGPT for medical advice?

🚨 5 BODY CHANGES YOU SHOULD NEVER IGNORE!

As a medical oncologist, one thing I want everyone to understand is that cancer doesn’t always announce itself with obvious symptoms.

Sometimes, the warning signs are subtle.

🔴 1. A new lump or swelling that doesn’t go away.

⚖️ 2. Unexplained weight loss without changes in diet or exercise.

😴 3. Persistent, unexplained fatigue that doesn’t improve with rest.

🩸 4. Unusual bleeding — blood in your stool or urine, coughing up blood, or unexpected vaginal bleeding.

🚽 5. Changes in bowel or bladder habits that persist without an obvious explanation.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: These symptoms do NOT automatically mean cancer. Many have common, noncancerous causes. But persistent, unexplained, or worsening changes deserve medical attention.

❤️ THE TAKEAWAY: Know what’s normal for YOUR body. Don’t panic over every symptom, but don’t ignore persistent changes either.

💬 Have you ever noticed a health change you almost ignored?

💔 IF YOU WERE JUST DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER, PLEASE READ THIS.

As a medical oncologist, I’ve sat across from so many patients on one of the hardest days of their lives.

And these are 5 things I wish every newly diagnosed patient knew:

1️⃣ Take it one step at a time. You don’t need to figure out the next year today.

2️⃣ Stop the endless Googling. Every cancer and every patient’s journey is different. Ask your oncology team for reliable information.

3️⃣ Start a notebook. Write down every question, appointment, and answer. Stress and treatment-related brain fog can make it hard to remember everything.

4️⃣ Let people help you. Accept the meals, the rides, the company. You don’t have to do this alone.

5️⃣ Remember this: The day you’re diagnosed with cancer is NOT the day your story ends. It’s the beginning of a chapter you never asked for—but you still have a story to tell. ❤️

You don’t have to be fearless. You don’t have to be positive every day.

You just have to take the next step.

💬 What advice would YOU give someone newly diagnosed with cancer?

📌 SAVE this and SHARE it with someone who needs to hear it.

🎶 If you grew up singing Spice Girls before you had a cell phone… this reminder is for you! 😂🎀

Girl, we’re officially in our mammogram era! 💗

As a medical oncologist, here’s what I want every woman to know:

🎀 Age 40: Time to start routine mammogram screening for most women at average risk.

🎀 No symptoms? You still need screening! Early breast cancer often causes no noticeable symptoms.

🎀 No family history? You still need screening. Most women diagnosed with breast cancer don’t have a family history of the disease.

🎀 Higher risk? You may need to start screening earlier or have additional imaging.

Mammograms can detect breast cancer before you can feel a lump, when treatment may be more effective.

Screening frequency varies by guideline and individual risk, so discuss your schedule with your healthcare provider.

💗 Tag your Spice Girls bestie and remind her to book her mammogram!

📌 SAVE & SHARE. A little reminder could make a big difference.

Does exposing cancer to air make it spread? No—this is a common cancer myth.

Cancer spreads through biological processes such as invasion into nearby tissues and movement through the bloodstream or lymphatic system—not because air or oxygen touches a tumor.

Biopsies and surgery are important tools for diagnosis and treatment. While rare tumor seeding can occur with certain cancers, it is not caused by exposure to air.

Don’t let misinformation delay medical care. Talk with your healthcare team about any concerns. 💙

🚨 5 FOOD MYTHS EVERY CANCER PATIENT SHOULD KNOW!

As a medical oncologist, I hear these myths all the time. Let’s separate FACT from FICTION! 🩺

🍽️ MYTH 1: Fasting starves cancer.
❌ Not proven. Prolonged fasting during treatment can cause malnutrition and muscle loss.

🌱 MYTH 2: Soy causes breast cancer.
❌ Soy foods like tofu, edamame, and soy milk are generally safe, even for breast cancer survivors.

🥬 MYTH 3: Organic food prevents cancer.
❌ No conclusive evidence. Your overall dietary pattern matters more than an organic label.

🍋 MYTH 4: An alkaline diet cures cancer.
❌ Food cannot meaningfully change your blood pH or cure cancer.

🍬 MYTH 5: Sugar feeds cancer.
❌ Eliminating sugar won’t starve cancer. Excess added sugar can contribute to weight gain and metabolic problems, but eating sugar doesn’t directly make tumors grow faster.

❤️ THE TAKEAWAY: You don’t need extreme diets to fight cancer. Focus on balanced nutrition, adequate protein, and evidence-based treatment.

💬 Which myth have YOU heard?

😳 YOU’VE HEARD OF COLON CANCER… BUT HAVE YOU ACTUALLY SEEN IT? 🔬

As a medical oncologist, I’m taking you inside the colon to show you how cancer can develop!

🩺 Normal colon: Healthy lining with no visible growths.

🟠 Colon polyp: A small growth that may be precancerous.

🚨 Colon cancer: Over time, certain polyps can turn into cancer, forming a mass that may eventually block the colon.

🔬 Under the microscope: See how normal colon tissue differs from cancer cells.

Here’s what I REALLY want you to know:

Colon cancer can develop without ANY symptoms. And a colonoscopy can actually PREVENT cancer by detecting and removing precancerous polyps before they turn into cancer!

📌 Colorectal cancer screening starts at age 45 for most average-risk adults. Some people need screening earlier.

❤️ Don’t wait for symptoms to get screened.

💬 Which cancer should I show you next? BREAST, PANCREATIC, or BLOOD cancer?

📌 SAVE & SHARE. This information could save someone’s life!

🚨 5 CANCER MYTHS I WISH EVERYONE WOULD STOP BELIEVING!

As a medical oncologist, I see how cancer misinformation creates fear and can delay lifesaving treatment.

Let’s separate FACT from FICTION. 🩺

💊 MYTH 1: Ivermectin and fenbendazole cure cancer.
❌ Neither is a proven cancer treatment in humans.

🩸 MYTH 2: A biopsy makes cancer spread.
❌ Biopsies are generally safe. Tumor seeding is extremely rare.

🔪 MYTH 3: Exposing cancer to air during surgery makes it spread.
❌ Air doesn’t cause cancer to spread. Surgery can be curative!

💉 MYTH 4: Chemotherapy kills more people than cancer.
❌ Chemotherapy has saved countless lives, although it can have serious risks.

🧪 MYTH 5: Normal blood tests mean you don’t have cancer.
❌ Many cancers don’t cause abnormalities in routine blood work.

❤️ THE TAKEAWAY: Cancer misinformation can be dangerous. Trust scientific evidence, not viral myths.
