Meet Aitor J. Roche Perez 🩺🇨🇺

We’re proud to feature Aitor, a Cuban physician from Santa Clara whose journey reflects resilience, adaptability, and determination.

After graduating from the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara, Aitor started a new chapter in Tampa in 2023. He became ECFMG certified and gained two years of experience working as a Medical Assistant.

This year, he expanded his U.S. clinical experience through rotations in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at BayCare, EndoONE, and USF/Tampa General. He is now pursuing his next chapter in Internal Medicine for Match 2027.

Born in Cuba and inspired by his father, a neurosurgeon, Javier’s path took him across countries and through unexpected challenges. After resuming his medical education in the Dominican Republic, a deeply personal family experience reaffirmed his calling to Neurology and strengthened his understanding of the profound impact neurological diseases have on patients and their loved ones.

Meet Enrique Marcos Sierra Benítez 🇨🇺🩺

We’re proud to feature Enrique, a Neurology applicant for Match 2027, and highlight a remarkable journey shaped by clinical experience, research, and a commitment to neuroscience.

He earned his medical degree and completed his neurosurgery training in Cuba, where he assisted in surgeries for drug-resistant epilepsy and advanced Parkinson’s disease. He later served as Chief Neurosurgeon at a referral hospital in Botswana, caring for patients with brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, and nervous system malformations.
