Did you know dry needling can be a beneficial and effective treatment modality for plantar fasciitis?!

This patient had tried everything- Rest. Stretching. New shoes. Inserts. Ice. Nothing gave her lasting relief from her plantar fasciitis. Then we added dry needling, and it became her game changer!

For plantar fasciitis, the calf and deep foot muscles are often major contributors. Dry needling lets us treat those areas directly, then pair it with manual soft tissue work and a strength plan to address why it started.

✨Marathon training and gluteal tendinopathy❗️

We are at the point in marathon training where I’m putting in some good, long runs. Throughout this training block, I’ve focused on balanced workouts with strength and endurance. I have also been working hard on stretching and recovery, but here we are. While on my last long run, my left hip felt funky- not painful, just a little odd. Since then, it’s been a bit stiff and tender, but hasn’t limited any of my workouts. Instead of pushing through it and risking injury, I’ve been getting more body work consisting of dry needling, massage and chiropractic care. I’ve also upped some targeted rehab exercises with both body weight and resistance bands. One of my goals of this marathon has been to get there and through it injury free. I believe I am still injury free but my body is definitely showing me my short falls and areas I need to pay attention to in this last 5 week stretch.

September is NICU Awareness Month 💚

1 in 10 babies born will spend time in the NICU. Preterm birth remains one of the leading reasons, and for the families who experience it, there is no adequate way to prepare.

Walking out of the hospital without your child after carrying them, protecting them, and dreaming about meeting them for months is an experience that changes something inside of you.

Being a NICU parent changes the way you see the world. It changes the way you understand fear, resilience, and GRATITUDE.

Our NICU journey is a part of our life that we will carry forever. It was one of the hardest chapters—and somehow, one of the chapters that has shaped us the most.

For NICU families- We see you. We understand you. You are not alone.

For healthcare workers in the NICU, thank you 💚

Dr. Jacob and Dr. Erik had a work day outside the office yesterday, golfing for a great cause supporting Make-a-Wish Vermont. While they love taking care of all of you in the office, it’s extra special to support the local community every chance we can.
