respectfully, stop doing these 😭

your pelvic floor does not need more fear, more Kegels, or less water rn.
it needs context, capacity + an actual plan

gold star behavior according to a pelvic floor PT who is begging y’all to stop being scared of your bodies ⭐️

like yes, sometimes we have symptoms. sometimes things need to be modified. sometimes recovery takes time.

but “my pelvic floor had a problem once so now i can never squat/run/lift/jump/have fun again” is NOT the plot.

we can hold two truths at once:
✨ your symptoms are real
✨ your body is also capable of adaptation

anyway. here’s your gold star. don’t spend it all in one place.

Things I’ve learned in my 30s as a pelvic floor PT:

You don’t need to make your body smaller to make it healthier.

Build the muscle.
Lift the weights.
Celebrate the tiny wins.
And stop letting pelvic floor symptoms convince you that you have to sit on the sidelines.

A pain-free workout is a win.
A sneeze without a leak is a win.
S*x without pain is a win.
Making it through your grocery trip without scouting the nearest bathroom is a win.

And if you’re healing? Give yourself some grace.

Some days you’ll feel like you’ve got it all figured out. Other days… not so much 😂

That doesn’t mean you’re going backwards.

Your body is allowed to change. Your capacity is allowed to change. And your definition of progress can change, too.

You don’t have to wait until things are “bad enough” to start taking care of your pelvic floor. 🤍

Save this one for the reminder you’ll probably need again later.

i fear we have made working out wayyyy too complicated 😂

you really can build a very effective workout around:

squat

push

pull

hinge

and then… progressively get stronger.

crazy concept, I know.

and this is especially important during pregnancy + postpartum because I don’t want you thinking you need a completely different body, workout, or set of rules just because you’re pregnant or had a baby.

we can modify things.

we can change positions.

we can change the load.

we can change the volume.

we can work around symptoms.

but you don’t have to stop being strong.

your pelvic floor is part of your strength system.

let’s train it like it belongs to the rest of your body. 🫶

Can we collectively stop acting like every pelvic floor problem has the exact same solution? 😅

Because rn the internet is basically:

👉 “Just do Kegels.”

or

👉 “Never drink coffee again.”

Neither is great advice.

My job isn’t to hand out the same treatment plan to everyone who walks through my door.

My job is to figure out why you’re having symptoms and help you get back to doing the things you actually enjoy.

Less fear.
Less guessing.
More confidence.

If that’s your vibe... welcome. 🤝
