There’s something special about watching a room full of people get completely absorbed in the process of making. 💙☀️

This weekend’s cyanotype workshop at the Catacombs of Neto was full of curiosity, experimentation, and so much creative energy. I loved teaching this group of thoughtful, excited creatives and watching each person discover what was possible with sunlight, chemistry, botanicals, and their own imagination.

This is exactly why I love teaching art—creating space for people to play, experiment, ask questions, and make something entirely their own.

Thank you to everyone who joined me! I’m already looking forward to the next round.

✨ Next cyanotype workshop: October 24th at the Catacombs of Neto. Space is limited, so reserve your spot soon. 💙

🪨 Stones of Transformation: Mindfulness, Creativity & Connection 🌊

What can a stone teach us about ourselves?

For our six-week Mental Health Art & Mindfulness group, we’ve been working with stones collected from the shores of Lake Michigan—using them as canvases for reflection, creativity, and connection.

Each week, the stones become a starting point for exploring a different mental health theme:

🪨 Words of Encouragement — creating affirmation and kindness stones
🌱 Grounding & Stability — exploring sensory grounding and creating calm stones
⭕ Balance & Harmony — creating mindful mandalas
🦋 Identity & Self-Expression — exploring animals, symbols, values, and inner strengths
🌊 Transformation & Growth — reflecting on resilience, change, and becoming
🤝 Connection & Celebration — bringing our individual creations together as a community

There is something powerful about working with an object that has already been shaped by water, weather, time, and pressure.

The stones remind us that transformation doesn’t always happen all at once. Sometimes it happens slowly—one wave, one season, one moment at a time.

And like the stones, we don’t have to erase what has shaped us to become something new. We can carry our experiences while continuing to grow, soften, change, and discover new strengths.

Through mindfulness and creative expression, we are practicing being present with ourselves, recognizing what supports us, and making space for our own stories.

Sometimes a small stone can hold a very big reminder:

Breathe.
Keep going.
You are not alone.
You are still becoming. 🩵

A beautiful reminder that wellness doesn’t always have to mean doing more. Sometimes, it’s simply giving ourselves permission to pause, breathe, and be. 🤍

Thank you to NeoStella Neostella for inviting us to be part of Global Wellness Week and welcoming us into the Catacombs of Neto for time to prioritize ourselves.

Our session wasn’t about accomplishing anything. We let go of the pressure to produce, perform, or check something off the list. We simply moved, breathed, connected, and gave ourselves permission to just be.

Because sometimes, taking care of ourselves means remembering that we don’t have to do anything to be worthy of rest.

🌙☀️ We made the moon with the sun. ☀️🌙

What a beautiful day at the Historic Third Ward Moon Festival! We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather to gather, create, experiment, and make something magical together.

Our cyanotype moon-making station was buzzing all morning — blue hands, curious minds, sunshine, laughter, and so many beautiful little moon prints finding their way home. 💙

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to create with us, and especially to our wonderful volunteers who helped make the day possible. We are so grateful for every person who stopped by, shared their creativity, and helped bring this little moon-making dream to life.

And if you didn’t get enough blue… 🌌

Use the sun to make the moon.

Discover the magic of one of the oldest photographic printing processes as sunlight transforms ordinary objects into stunning Prussian blue works of art.

Cyanotypes were invented in the 19th century and have a fascinating history, connecting science, art, and experimentation. They have been used for everything from documenting botanical specimens to creating architectural blueprints, and today they continue to inspire artists around the world.

🌸 Blooming Together 🌸

This collaborative art installation was created by participants across our mental health groups, with each person contributing their own unique creativity, perspective, and expression.

Through vibrant drawings, color, and textile art, we explored the theme of Blooming Together—the idea that growth, healing, and resilience are nurtured through connection and community. Each individual contribution became part of something larger, reminding us that while every journey is unique, we do not have to grow alone.

Thank you to everyone who shared their creativity and helped bring this beautiful project to life. 🌿✨
