Last time we talked about the things anxiety disguises itself as. This time — here’s what actually helps.
Not the Pinterest-perfect self-care. Not “just relax.” Real, physical ways to tell your nervous system it’s safe.
You don’t have to overhaul your whole life to feel calmer. Sometimes it starts with one small moment like this.
Save this for the next time your mind starts racing. 🤍

If you related to any of these, I want you to know — that’s not just “how you are.” That’s anxiety showing up in ways that are easy to miss because they’ve become so familiar.
You don’t have to keep white-knuckling your way through daily life. Therapy can help you understand why your mind works this way, and give you tools to feel calmer in your own skin.
If this hit close to home, drop a 🤍 below or send me a message. You’re not alone in this.

“I’m fine” is often less about how you feel and more about managing everyone else’s reaction to how you feel. It’s faster, it avoids a conversation you don’t have energy for, and it keeps things moving.
But it also means the people around you have no idea there’s anything to help with — so the overwhelm just keeps building quietly, with no one stepping in.
You don’t have to overshare. Even “I’m a little stretched thin right now” gives someone something real to respond to.
Comment 💛 if you say “I’m fine” more than you mean it.

You just woke up (way before 9:30) and mom guilt is already clocking in. ⏰
Before your feet even hit the floor, you’re feeling guilty for looking forward to camp drop-off. For daycare. For a few hours where you’re not “on.”
Here’s what I want you to hear: wanting a break doesn’t mean you don’t love your kids. It means you’re human, and you’ve been running on empty for a while.
Looking forward to some space isn’t a red flag. It’s your nervous system asking for room to breathe.
You’re allowed to love your kids AND count down the minutes until drop-off. Both things are true. Neither one cancels the other out.
💬 What does your mom guilt like to say first thing in the morning?
🔖 Save this for the mornings guilt shows up uninvited.

Your body has been sending signals all day. Question is — are you actually listening? 🚩
The tension headache. The snapping at something small. The feeling of running on fumes but pushing through anyway because stopping feels like falling behind.
For a lot of overachievers, exhaustion isn’t a stop sign — it’s just Wednesday. You’ve gotten so good at pushing through that you stopped noticing you were pushing through at all.
But ignoring the signal doesn’t make it go away. It just means your body has to get louder to be heard.
You don’t have to wait for burnout to force the break. You’re allowed to take it the moment you notice you need it — not after you’ve earned it.
💬 What’s the signal your body sends first when you need to slow down?
🔖 Save this for the next time “I’ll rest later” becomes today’s plan.

If I had to start everyone at square one, it would always be these two things: awareness and presence. 🌿
Not breathing techniques. Not journaling prompts. Not even boundaries — yet.
Because before any tool works, you have to actually notice what’s happening in your body and mind in real time. Most of my clients come in so used to pushing through anxiety that they’ve lost touch with the early signals — the tight chest, the racing thoughts, the urge to check one more thing.
Awareness is learning to catch it earlier, before it snowballs.
Presence is learning to stay in your actual life — not three steps ahead, worrying about what hasn’t happened yet.
These two things sound simple. They’re not easy. But they’re the foundation everything else gets built on.
You don’t have to master calm today. You just have to start noticing.
💬 What’s the first sign your body gives you that anxiety is creeping in?
🔖 Save this as your starting point.

“I don’t want to bother anyone” — the sentence keeping so many women stuck in silence. 😔
If asking for help feels like a last resort instead of a first option, you’re not alone. So many moms and women have learned to equate needing support with being a burden.
But here’s the truth: needing help isn’t an inconvenience you’re causing. It’s a normal, human need — and the people who care about you want to be let in, not kept out.
That call to your therapist? That’s not “bothering” someone. That’s taking care of yourself before you hit empty.
You don’t have to earn support by struggling first.
💬 What’s the story you tell yourself about asking for help?
🔖 Save this for the next time silence feels safer than asking.

Anxiety loves to live in the future. 🌀
That thing that hasn’t happened yet? Your nervous system doesn’t know the difference between “might happen” and “is happening” — so it reacts like it’s real.
Here’s what actually helps when your mind starts spinning on what-ifs:
🚶‍♀️ Go for a walk without your phone
📝 Make a list of what’s actually in your control today
🌬️ Take five slow breaths before you react
🎨 Do something unexpected, creative, or just plain fun
None of these “fix” anxiety. But they interrupt it — and give your nervous system a chance to catch up with reality.
You don’t have to solve the whole spiral today. Just the next five minutes.
💬 Which one are you trying first?
🔖 Save this for the next what-if moment.

This isn’t relaxing. This is standby mode.
And if you’ve never actually finished a full exhale without one ear listening for footsteps — I see you.
Anxiety in moms doesn’t always look like worry. Sometimes it just looks like never fully being off duty, even when you’re technically “resting.”
You’re allowed to rest without a countdown attached to it. Even if it takes practice to believe that.
👇 How long does your “five minutes” usually actually last? Be honest. 🔖 Save this for the next time you need permission to stay sitting.

Anxiety has a way of convincing moms that if you’re worrying, you’re protecting.

So instead of laughing at the park, you’re thinking about what could happen.
Instead of soaking up bedtime snuggles, you’re replaying everything you “should’ve” done differently.
Instead of enjoying today, you’re preparing for tomorrow.

The hardest part? It can feel responsible.

But your children don’t need a mom who never worries. They need a mom who knows how to come back to the present—even when anxiety is asking for her attention.

Being present isn’t about never having anxious thoughts. It’s about not letting those thoughts steal the moments that matter most.

If you’ve been feeling like anxiety is taking you away from the motherhood you want to experience, you’re not alone. And it doesn’t have to stay this way. 🤍
