Digital Literacy - Getting the community well acquainted with technology that can help enhance their work, school, and higher educational pursuits.

Walnut Way helps facilitate learning opportunities and to give residents either a Chromebook laptop or tablet that they can use personally

We know that is imperative to be on board for the future so we want to prepare all of the community to create access and build foundations.

Lindsay Heights Residents came out to IWC with WWBIC to learn about financial literacy that will equip them with the knowledge to support themselves and their families. With this training they will receive a 750.00 stipend to help fund pay off debut fund their savings or any endeavors they choose.

They will meet up with their financial coach twice to guide them through the necessary process of what it means to budget correctly and strategically use the money.

Educators from banks, real estate, financial coaches, and a wellness coach spoke on the importance of building credit, prioritizing needs over wants, doing their due diligence before purchasing a home, and also self-care routines that will improve the health of their lives.

This training is vital to keep our community prepared and to continue the education with the children.

Walnut Way has secured $1.1 million to build one megawatt of community-owned solar in Lindsay Heights, with sites across Milwaukee’s North Side expected to be running by December 2027. Find out more via Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service ⬇️

This year in Lindsay Heights , we celebrated our first 1-megawatt solar panel installation that will be community owned! At Harvest Day local vendors, residents, and public figures came out to support this new endeavor to recognize our monumental push for a greener future.
