Welcome, October 🍂
October reminds us that change doesn’t have to happen all at once.
As the seasons shift, it’s a natural time to check in with yourself, your routines, and what your body may be asking for. Maybe that means getting back to the basics—better sleep, more nourishing meals, daily movement, hydration, or simply creating a little more space to slow down.
At Renew, we’re also heading into one of our busiest seasons, and we’re grateful to continue supporting you wherever you are on your wellness journey. This month, we’re sharing a little education, a few practical wellness reminders, and some updates from around the center to help you move into fall feeling supported and prepared.
Here’s to embracing the season, listening to your body, and remembering that small, consistent choices can create meaningful change over time.
With gratitude,
Kelly & the Renew Holistic Wellness Team

Immune Health Starts
Before You Get Sick
As we head into fall and the colder months ahead, conversations naturally turn toward cold and flu season. But supporting your immune system doesn't have to start after you wake up with a scratchy throat, stuffy nose, or fatigue. In fact, some of the most important immune-supportive work happens long before you feel sick.
Your immune system is influenced every day by how well you sleep, what you eat, your nutrient status, your stress level, your digestive health, how much you move, and even how well you recover. Rather than waiting until your body is struggling, fall is a great time to strengthen the foundations that help your immune system do its job.
Start With the Basics
Prioritize sleep. Sleep is an important part of healthy immune regulation and recovery. Aim for a consistent sleep and wake schedule and give yourself enough time to truly rest—not simply enough time in bed.
Nourish your body. Your immune system requires adequate energy, protein, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to function properly. Build meals around quality protein, plenty of colorful vegetables and fruits, healthy fats, and minimally processed foods.
Don't forget hydration. It's easy to drink less water once summer ends, but your body's need for hydration doesn't disappear when the weather cools. Adequate fluids support normal circulation, digestion, elimination, and the mucous membranes that serve as part of your body's natural defenses.
Take care of your gut. Your gastrointestinal tract and immune system are closely connected. A diverse microbiome, a healthy intestinal barrier, good digestion, and regular elimination all contribute to a healthy internal environment. If you're consistently dealing with bloating, reflux, diarrhea, constipation, or other digestive symptoms, pay attention to them rather than simply accepting them as "normal."
Keep moving. You don't need an intense workout every day. Walking, strength training, stretching, yoga, and other regular movement can support metabolic health, circulation, stress regulation, sleep, and overall immune health.
Manage the stress load. We can't eliminate every source of stress, but we can change how often our bodies get a chance to recover. Deep breathing, meditation, Reiki, time outdoors, gentle movement, boundaries, and simply creating periods of quiet can all be valuable additions to your wellness routine.
What About Immune-Supportive Supplements?
Supplements can provide additional support, but they work best as part of a healthy foundation—not as a replacement.
Depending on your needs, we may recommend products like XYMOGEN Xcellent C for vitamin C support and XYMOGEN Vitamin D when additional vitamin D is appropriate. Because vitamin D needs can vary considerably from person to person, we prefer to consider your current intake, health history, and lab values when determining appropriate supplementation.
We also carry DesBio Seasonal Defense and other DesBio products that may be incorporated into an individualized seasonal wellness plan.
And these are only a few examples. We have several additional immune-supportive remedies available at Renew and can help you choose the options that make the most sense for you, rather than simply taking everything labeled "immune support."
Don't Wait Until You're Run Down
One of the best things you can do this fall is pay attention to the signals your body is already giving you.
Are you exhausted despite getting enough sleep? Getting sick frequently? Feeling chronically stressed? Struggling with your digestion? Not recovering well? Wondering whether your vitamin D or other nutrient levels are adequate?
Sometimes the answer is simply tightening up the basics. Other times, it may be helpful to look a little deeper.
The goal isn't to create an immune system that never encounters illness. It's to give your body the foundational support and resources it needs to respond, recover, and remain resilient throughout the season.
At Renew, we're happy to help you build a seasonal wellness plan that makes sense for your body. If you're wondering about immune-supportive supplements, remedies, nutrition, or whether additional testing may be appropriate, talk with us at your next visit.
🍂 Renew Reminders
Book Ahead for the Busy Season
Fall and winter are some of our busiest months! If you have a preferred day, time, or practitioner—or know you'll want upcoming appointments —we encourage you to schedule ahead whenever possible. Our calendars can fill quickly, and booking early gives you the best selection of appointment times.
Feeling Sick? Please Let Us Know
If you're experiencing a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, a contagious illness, or otherwise aren't feeling well enough for your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible. We want you to take care of yourself while also helping us protect our practitioners and other clients.
A Reminder About Cancellations
We understand that plans sometimes change. Because we reserve appointment times specifically for you, we require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled or changed within 24 hours are subject to our cancellation policy. If your appointment was prepaid, you will forfeit the appointment fee; if it was not prepaid, you will be responsible for the cost of the scheduled session. Illness does not automatically waive the policy, so please reach out as early as possible if you're unsure whether you should keep your appointment.
Check Your Confirmations
Please take a moment to review your appointment confirmations for the correct date, time, location, and any preparation instructions. Some of our services require specific preparation beforehand, and following those instructions helps you get the most from your visit.
Plan Ahead for Supplements, Too
Running low? Don't wait until you're completely out! Give us a little notice when you need supplements reordered or set aside for pickup—especially as we approach the holiday season.
Thank you for helping us keep Renew running smoothly and allowing us to provide the best experience possible for everyone in our wellness community!
A Fond Farewell to Mia 💛
October 16 will be a bittersweet day at Renew as we say goodbye to our wonderful summer intern, Mia!
Mia has been such a great addition to our Renew team, and while we are so sad to see her go, we're also incredibly excited for what comes next. She'll be heading to the Aveda Institute to pursue its esthetics program, and we know she'll bring the same warmth, care, and enthusiasm to this next chapter that she has shared with all of us. We can't wait to see where her career takes her!
Please join us in wishing Mia all the best on her next adventure!
As we make this transition, we appreciate a little extra planning and patience from our clients. Until we solidify our new Client Care Coordinator position at the front desk, supplement shopping and pickups may need to be arranged a bit more carefully. If you know you're running low or would like to stop in for supplements or other products, please contact us ahead of time so we can make sure someone is available to assist you.
Thank you for your understanding as our team transitions—and most of all, thank you, Mia, for being part of Renew! We'll miss you!

October Wellness Challenge
As the days get shorter, don't let your movement disappear with the daylight.
Aim for a 10–15-minute walk after one meal each day. It's a simple habit that can support digestion, blood sugar regulation, stress management, and overall metabolic health.
Here’s to a Healthy Fall 🍂
As we settle into a new season, remember that wellness doesn’t have to mean doing everything perfectly. Often, it’s the small things we do consistently—nourishing our bodies, getting enough rest, moving regularly, managing stress, and paying attention to what our bodies are telling us—that make the biggest difference over time.
We’re so grateful to have you in the Renew community and for the trust you place in our team. Whether we see you regularly, occasionally, or you’re simply following along and learning with us, we’re glad you’re here.
“October is a reminder that change can be beautiful—and that sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is slow down, let go, and make room for what comes next.”
Here’s to a healthy, happy October—and to taking good care of yourself as we head into the busy months ahead. We look forward to seeing you soon!
