There’s something so sacred about the first moments after a baby arrives. ✨

Everyone gathered around, meeting the newest little soul. Big siblings taking in tiny fingers and toes. A family quietly becoming something new all over again.
And in the middle of it all, mom rests in her bed.

Birth doesn’t always need to be loud or dramatic. Sometimes it looks like this peaceful new beginning surrounded by the familiar…home. 🤍

Welcome earthside, little one. You are already so deeply loved.

Birth story:
Early signs of labor started the morning before... but we were in denial that she was coming pretty much until 15 minutes before she was born..
1 AM: active labor started.. somewhere around 2am we called the midwife and she was on her way..
3 AM: I got in the pool and thought things were slowing down... boy was I wrong.
3:22 AM: water broke. I remember working through some contractions worshiping and thanking Jesus for this experience and this baby that we were so close to meeting. I also remember freaking out in a moment when I felt like I had to start pushing and thinking it was going to be hours of pushing ahead. But Ben and the midwife on the phone got me back on track with breathing..
probably around 3:40 I felt the intense urge to push and was trying to feel for baby’s head.. I felt her crowning and that gave me the courage to push her head completely out in the next push. My hand was on her little head and in the next push her whole body was out.
At 3:45 she was on my chest. Ben unwrapped the chord from around her neck and we got her crying! The midwife got there a little after 4 AM and provided the best care for me and baby.
Eisley’s birth was everything I had prayed that it would be. It’s the most empowering thing I have experienced to birth my baby basically unassisted.. with my husband (favorite birth coach) by my side. Thankfully she was a little peanut
Her name means cheerful worship/song.
Her older brothers are in love. They slept through the night and woke up to a little sister!”

Birth is a life event that can also be a family event. ✨

A rare daytime birth - kids had time to skate outside, paint nails, eat muffins, bake a birthday cake & even support mom while she labored! Twyla, you are so strong & did exactly what was needed to bring baby earthside! I’m so proud of you & grateful to have been a part of your birth. 🫶🏻

When a woman feels safe, comfortable, and supported, oxytocin flows more easily.
Oxytocin is one of the key hormones that drives labor.
It’s one reason so many women find comfort in -

• Dim lights
• A familiar environment
• Warm water
• Music
• People they trust

Birth isn’t just physical.
It’s deeply emotional and hormonal.
And those things matter.
