Your support opens doors to opportunity. 💙

Our Open Doors Campaign is back this fall, and we’re inviting our community to help create more opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Every day at Vocational Visions, the individuals we serve are building skills, finding meaningful employment, volunteering, making connections, and working toward greater independence. Last year alone, program participants completed more than 65,000 hours of work and contributed 3,300 hours of volunteer service in our community.

Your support helps make these opportunities possible through meaningful programs, community experiences, essential resources, and dedicated staff.

💙 Join us in opening more doors this fall. Make your gift today: https://vocationalvisions.org/?give=8NDR96EK

And to wrap up our DSP Recognition Week highlights, we're celebrating Rowena! ❤️

Rowena believes in encouraging participants to try something new, discover what they enjoy, and be part of the experience.

As one of MDS's creative talents, Rowena often leads arts and crafts and makes sure participants aren't just watching, they're painting, cutting, creating, and bringing ideas to life alongside her.

As Rowena simply puts it: "We're here to encourage them."

What a beautiful note to end our week on. Thank you, Rowena, and thank you to every DSP who brings their own special touch to Vocational Visions each day! 💙

Today, we're celebrating Wilma and the heart she brings to the people she supports. 💙

For Wilma, great support is often found in the little things: remembering a favorite song, knowing which activities someone enjoys, or recognizing when a participant needs a little extra time and patience.

After nearly eight years at Vocational Visions, one of her greatest joys is simply watching her participants grow and achieve their goals.

Thank you, Wilma, for remembering the little things and caring in all the ways that matter. 💙

Meet Rafael, one of the dedicated DSPs we're celebrating this DSP Recognition Week!

For nearly 12 years, Rafael has brought a simple philosophy to his work: if someone needs help, he's ready to lend a hand. Today, he leads a crew of three participants who help keep park restrooms throughout Mission Viejo clean and welcoming.

Rain or shine, through messy days and unexpected challenges, Rafael shows up with patience, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work right alongside his crew.

Thank you, Rafael, for helping hand you extend to your participants and our community every day! ❤️

Continuing our celebration of with a highlight from ADP: David!

David is always thinking about what's next for the people he supports. He's helped bring new energy to ADP by creating activities like the Hiking and Fishing Club, while also advocating for opportunities beyond the program.

Today, you'll often find him at Discovery Cube, where he works as a job coach supporting participants as they build skills, confidence, and real-world work experience. The program has helped participants move from volunteer opportunities to paid internships and even direct employment. His outreach has helped secure six paid internships at REI, Discovery Cube, and more, in the past 6 months.

Thank you, David, for always finding new ways to help our participants learn, grow, and discover new purpose and opportunities.

As we continue celebrating DSP Recognition Week, meet Maria! ❤️

Ask how she likes being a DSP and she'll quickly correct you: "Liking it? I'm loving it!".

That enthusiasm says a lot about the heart Maria brings to her work. She looks forward to seeing her participants each day and finds so much joy simply being part of their lives.

Thank you, Maria, for bringing so much love and care to VV!
