Happy World Mental Health Day from Be Known, LLC!

If you are diagnosed with a mental health disorder, you are not alone. According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 7 people in the world are living with a diagnosable mental health condition every year. While mental health disorders can severely disrupt daily life, there are effective treatments that can improve your mental health. On world mental health day, we acknowledge that mental health access is critical to improving the daily life of those affected by mental health concerns throughout the world. As research and information about effective therapies continues to grow, so should funding and access towards mental health therapies.
What can you do to celebrate World Mental Health Day?
✨Listen to the lived experience of someone in your life who is living with a mental illness, and recognize the expertise of their experience in navigating mental health.
✨Watch a video or read a book by someone who has experienced a mental illness.
✨Write a letter or make a call to advocate for a policy change that would support the mental health needs of your community.
✨Practice Loving Kindness Meditation, holding the whole world in your awareness.
✨Access mental health care for yourself if you are able.

Breast cancer can impact so much more than your physical health. From hormonal changes and shifts in s*xual desire to changes in body image, identity, and intimacy, the effects of breast cancer and its treatment can extend well beyond the treatment itself.
Whether you're currently undergoing treatment or have been in recovery for years, it's normal to experience changes in how you feel about your body, your s*xuality, and your relationships.
At Be Known, we recognize that s*xual well-being is an important part of overall health. S*x therapy can offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space to process these changes, reconnect with your body, explore intimacy, and navigate what s*xuality looks like for you now.
Because your s*xual well-being matters, during cancer treatment and beyond.

What a beautiful morning at the Cincinnati Art Museum!

This past weekend, Menopause Care Collective had the opportunity to experience the menopause journey through a different lens—exploring art, sharing stories, asking questions, and connecting with one another along the way.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this experience so meaningful. We’re grateful for the conversations, the curiosity, and the community we continue to build around menopause.

A special thank you to the Cincinnati Art Museum for welcoming us and helping us see these works in a new way. ✨

The feeling when you remember to get a group photo 😅
The Columbus Area S*xual Wellness Professionals meetup was a success, with chances to meet across disciplines of therapy, physical therapy, advocacy, yoga, and medicine. Dr. Amanda Townsend educated our group on myofascial release and her personal and professional experience with it. It is so good to learn more about each others' professions and know people to refer to when we know our clients will be helped by their expertise!
For fellow s*xual wellness professionals from any discipline in and around the Columbus area who would be interested in joining our next quarterly meetup, email [email protected].

Where you don’t have to apologize for still being hurt.

Where you don’t have to pretend you’re further along than you are.

Where you can say, “I know I probably sound crazy, but I keep thinking about…”

and nobody looks at you like you should be over it by now.

Because sometimes your friends love you deeply and still don’t know what to say anymore.

They’ve listened.

They’ve checked in.

They’ve told you that you deserve better.

And eventually, you start holding back because you don’t want to become the friend who is still talking about their ex.

But you’re still hurting.

You’re still processing.

You’re still trying to make sense of what happened and figure out who you are on the other side of it.

You don’t need to rush that just because other people have stopped asking.

Healing Through Separation is a therapist-led support group for women who are navigating separation, divorce, or the aftermath of a breakup and need a place to process what they’re actually going through.

You can come talk about the grief, the anger, the loneliness, the what-ifs, the co-parenting, the dating, the person you miss, the person you don’t miss, and all the incredibly complicated feelings in between.

You don’t have to have it figured out before you walk through the door.

You just have to be willing to show up.

Wednesdays at 5 PM | Virtual | $50/session

Registration is open.*

There’s a strange kind of grief that happens when you know a relationship needed to end and your heart still hasn’t caught up with the decision.

You can know leaving was necessary and still miss them.

You can feel relieved and heartbroken in the same week.

You can be angry about what happened and still grieve the person you thought they were.

You can be certain you don’t want the relationship back and still have moments where you desperately wish your old life could somehow be restored.

Separation doesn’t require you to feel one clean, uncomplicated emotion.

It asks you to hold a lot of conflicting feelings at the same time while you’re also trying to figure out what happens next.

And if you’re doing that right now, you don’t need someone telling you to “look on the bright side.”

You probably need somewhere you can tell the truth about how hard this actually is.

That’s part of why we created The separation support group, a therapist-led virtual support group for folks navigating separation and divorce.

We start Sept. 30th on and will meet on Wednesdays at 5 pm.*

Separation creates an enormous amount of uncertainty.

What happens next?

Where will you live?

What happens with the kids?

Will you be okay financially?

Will they change their mind?

Will you change yours?

Will you ever trust someone again?

Will you ever feel normal again?

And when our nervous system doesn’t have answers, sometimes our minds start searching backward.

Maybe if I understand exactly what happened, I’ll finally feel better.

Maybe if I figure out the moment everything changed, I’ll know what I should have done.

Maybe if I can find the thing I did wrong, I can prevent this from ever happening again.

But sometimes there isn’t a single conversation that explains the end of a relationship.

Sometimes there isn’t one person who carries all the blame.

And sometimes healing means learning how to tolerate the uncertainty without letting it consume you.

That’s a skill.

And it’s one we’ll work on together inside The Separation Support Group, a therapist-led virtual support group for folks navigating separation and divorce.

We start Sept. 30th on and will meet on Wednesdays at 5 pm.*

The kids are asleep.

Your phone isn’t lighting up.

Nobody needs anything from you.

And suddenly you’re alone with every thought you’ve been too busy to feel.

You replay the conversation.

You wonder if you made the right decision.

You think about what they’re doing.

You wonder whether they’re hurting too.

You look around the house and realize how much of your life was built around another person being there.

And sometimes the loneliness isn’t even about wanting them back.

It’s about realizing that the life you knew is gone.

That kind of loneliness deserves more than “keep yourself busy.”

You deserve support while you’re learning how to be alone without feeling abandoned by your own life.

That’s part of why we created The separation support group, a therapist-led virtual support group for folks navigating separation and divorce.

We start Sept. 30th on and will meet on Wednesdays at 5 pm.*

For the woman who’s functioning at work while falling apart at home.

For the mom who’s trying to keep things steady for her kids while everything inside her feels anything but steady.

For the woman who knows the relationship is over but hasn’t figured out how to emotionally let go.

For the woman who’s grieving someone she still loves.

For the woman who’s angry.

For the woman who’s lonely.

For the woman who’s terrified of starting over.

For the woman who is already wondering if she’ll ever want to date again.

And for the woman who doesn’t even want to think about dating because she’s still trying to get through Tuesday.

Healing Through Separation is a 12-week therapist-led virtual support group designed to give you a place to process what you’re carrying while learning practical tools for navigating this season.

We’ll talk about grief, boundaries, emotional regulation, identity, attachment, co-parenting, loneliness, dating, self-worth, forgiveness, and creating a future you can actually feel hopeful about.

You don’t have to know what your next chapter looks like.

You just need somewhere safe to begin.

There can be a very specific kind of pain in realizing someone you once built a life with is building something new.

You might feel replaced.

Jealous.

Angry.

Rejected.

Relieved that they’re moving on.

Terrified that they’re moving on.

Embarrassed that you care.

You might even find yourself comparing yourself to a person you’ve never met.

And none of those feelings automatically mean you’re not healing.

It means you’re human.

A breakup doesn’t erase attachment just because the relationship ended.

And watching someone you were deeply attached to move forward can bring all of that attachment right back to the surface.

You don’t have to shame yourself for having a reaction.

You can learn to understand what’s underneath it, regulate the emotion, and decide what you actually want to do with it.

We’ll talk about this, along with dating, attachment, boundaries, self-worth, grief, and rebuilding your identity, inside The Separation Support Group.
