Elderberry syrup is ready!
This remedy is a real cornerstone of ‘wild sings the bird’. I’ve been making it every fall for 13 years. Two syrups - elderberry and elecampane/thyme cough syrup - were the first two things I started selling to friends and neighbors, and then at the Middlebury Farmers Market so many years ago.
The formula has changed very little- fresh elderberries, Vermont raw honey, a little ginger and lots of astragalus root. It’s simple, warming, and provides lots of immune system support all through the winter. I don’t use any alcohol in this, it’s half raw honey to preserve, which means the kids really like it.
🥄stock your medicine cabinet for the cold & flue season. I have a few quarts left at the v good price of $78, or you can buy them by the bottle- 8 oz for $24.
🌱If you wanna make your own this year, I have frozen berries and quarts of vt honey to sell. Just ask about pricing.
