We make up medications solving problems drug companies cannot. Our pharmacy focuses on health and wellness. A majority of our compounding is for hormone replacement. Janet Needham and Shawn Needham, the company founders are considered experts in the field. At Moses Lake Professional Pharmacy, we do not bill any insurance. The benefit is better service at a better price for each individual patient. We spend our time with our patients, not insurance companies.

Something I keep seeing in the comments on a few of my videos that went viral are people saying providers who don't bill insurance are unethical.

Here's my answer, as a pharmacist who hasn't billed insurance in over 24 years.

Is it unethical to collect cash from a patient, be upfront about the price, and leave no surprises? No. What I'd call unethical is hiding your pricing, inflating what's billed to insurance, and sending a surprise bill six months later.

In my experience, cash beats insurance. You get more transparency, fewer surprises, lower prices, and better service and quality.

If a traditional doctor tells you everything is "normal," don't stop there. It is not normal to feel sick and tired after 40, or 50, or 60.

It's World Menopause Day.

Hot flashes and night sweats are classic symptoms of menopause and low estrogen. But before that comes perimenopause, and the first thing to change is your cycles.

Longer, shorter, skipped: any change is worth paying attention to. It's often a sign of low progesterone, and it usually means menopause is coming somewhere between six months and five years from now. Nobody can say exactly when.

So don't wait for the hot flashes. When your cycles start changing, get your hormones checked by a hormone specialist so you can get ahead of it.
