Things I wish I knew as a first-time raw feeder. 🐶⬇️

1. It is nowhere near as messy or intimidating as people make it out to be once you establish a clean prep routine.

2. A 14 lb bag actually fits easily in a standard kitchen freezer without needing a dedicated deep freezer.

3. You do not have to go completely all-or-nothing, because adding fresh raw food to a kibble base still offers massive benefits.

4. The natural energy boost and playfulness showed up almost immediately once the switch was made.

5. The reduction in daily shedding and the overall softness of their coat took me completely by surprise.

6. Smaller, firmer, and practically odorless backyard cleanups make daily scoop duty dramatically easier.

🐾 Look for the Label: Flip the bag over. Make sure it says for all life stages, including large breed puppy growth. (AAFCO Statement: Make sure the bag explicitly reads "for All Life Stages including the growth of large-size dogs.)

Boozey and Simon meeting each other for the first time🫶🏻.

Boozey helps with reactive dog training and has a good history with cats.. so although this was not a planned interaction.. we used it!

Not only does this help Boozey stay in touch with me so he can work better with reactive dogs.. (we are using an easier distraction for him while doing the same work we would with a dog). But it also helped Simon to learn he doesn’t need to run at the sight of a dog.

In a world where you see 18373620 different ways to train a dog… and it constantly makes you question if you are doing the right thing.. the proof is in the pudding.. train the dog in front of you, train with patience, train with fairness, train at your dogs pace, not every dog is meant for every situation.. and that is a-ok!
