Medical Assistant Position Available
A successful and growing podiatry practice is currently looking for a full-time qualified Medical Assistant in a fast-paced environment. Seeking a TEAM-focused, positive personality to join our fantastic staff. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
Hours: Full time - Mon - Fri.
Location: Muncie, Indiana
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping them neat and clean
Greet patients and take to exam room
Interview/update patient medical history and take vitals
Clinical work with patients, including casting for and dispensing of orthotics/braces/shoes and other durable medical equipment, dressing changes, suture removal, etc.
Enter information into electronic medical record (EMR)
Assist physician in the exam room with patients and with minor procedures
Follow up on patient calls and document conversations in EMR
Generate prescriptions as directed by physicians and update medications in EMR
Facilitate scheduling of out of office procedures and tests
Provide prescription information to pharmacies
Contact medical facilities to schedule patients for tests and/or admission
Order medical supplies and equipment
Pre-certify medical supplies and procedures through insurance companies
Perform general office duties such as answering telephones, scheduling appointments and assisting the office team when necessary
Other duties as assigned

Strong computer skills and experience with EMR preferred
