Trigger Warning ⚠️

Join us on April 17th in The Rec game room (downstairs by the weight room) for our annual "What Were You Wearing" Exhibit from 11 AM - 7 PM. "What Were You Wearing" is an art exhibit based on student survivor descriptions of the clothes they were sexually assaulted. These stories were collected from survivors by Jen Brockman and Dr. Mary Wyandt at the University of Arkansas in 2013. Due to the powerful, sensitive content of this exhibit, we have partnered with counselors from the counseling center to be present throughout the entire event to offer support if needed.

Join the Center for Survivor Support and Student Government Association next Wednesday, March 27th from 6-8 pm for a screening of the film, Disfluency, to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Month! After the showing, there will be a Q+A with the Director and an organized panel of advocates.

"The film presents a raw portrayal of PTSD without the need for graphic scenes of assault. Without seeing anything explicit or even knowing exactly what happened, Jane’s devastation is palpable and enough to make the viewer’s stomach clench. By not depicting the assault itself, the film also rightfully takes away any opportunity the viewer could have had to question the validity of Jane’s trauma. It is decidedly not just about the trauma itself, but about her bravery in moving on with her life, even if she admits to still not being completely okay. This theme extends beyond the typical discussions of consent you might see in films with similar premises. “Disfluency” is a masterclass in many of the feelings of self-doubt survivors face when disclosing. "

She was a pivotal leader who set the example of advocacy for violence and injustice in marginalized communities. While we only recognized a couple individuals this month, we want to challenge all students to dive in deeper and learn more about the people who laid the foundation for where we are now!
