When’s the last time you left your phone at home, went for a walk, and just listened?

No music. No podcast. No distractions.

Just the wind in the trees, the birds, and the sounds of the world around you.

Let us know in the comments: When was the last time you gave yourself that kind of quiet?

We spend so much of our lives following paths laid out for us. Meeting expectations, chasing milestones, and moving from one thing to the next. Sometimes without stopping to ask whether the life we’re building is one we actually want to live.

But life is brief. And the beautiful thing about it is that we’re allowed to change direction. To grow, to begin again, to discover new parts of ourselves, and to redefine what a meaningful life looks like.

At Renewed Hope, we believe wellness is about more than physical health. It’s about having the freedom, vitality, and intention to live a life that feels meaningful to you.

So here’s a question worth sitting with:

Are you living a life that’s truly yours, or one someone else chose for you? 🌿

What if, instead of focusing so much on counting calories, we started paying a little more attention to counting plants? 🌱

Your gut is home to trillions of microorganisms, and what you eat helps shape that ecosystem.

Research from the American Gut Project found that people who consumed more than 30 different types of plants per week tended to have greater gut microbial diversity than those eating 10 or fewer.

But here’s the fun part: plant diversity goes far beyond fruits and vegetables.

Think nuts, seeds, legumes, whole grains, herbs, and spices. Even small additions throughout the day can help introduce different fibers and beneficial plant compounds into your diet.

And while 30 isn’t a magic number or a requirement for good health, it’s a fun reminder that variety matters.

So here’s a little challenge for the week:

See how many different plant foods you can incorporate into your meals. You might be surprised how quickly they add up!

🌿 How many different plants do you think you eat in a typical week? Tell us below!

There’s a reason we often feel a little more like ourselves after spending time outside.

Research suggests that time in natural environments can help reduce stress, lower cortisol levels, support nervous system regulation, and improve mood and attention. Even brief periods of exposure to green spaces have been associated with measurable psychological benefits.

Our brains and bodies evolved in relationship with the natural world, yet so much of modern life keeps us separated from it.

Nature isn’t a cure for everything, and healing is rarely as simple as taking a walk in the woods. But there is growing scientific evidence for something many of us have felt intuitively for a long time: our surroundings influence our well-being.

Maybe spending time outside isn’t so much an escape from life as it is a way of reconnecting with it.

Wellness has gotten complicated. Maybe a little too complicated.

Somewhere along the way, “healthy” started looking like tracking every number, fearing every glucose spike, eliminating more foods, adding more supplements, training harder, and trying to optimize every waking hour.

But more isn’t always better. And “healthy” habits taken to an extreme can stop being all that healthy.

There’s a place for testing. There’s a place for supplements, tracking, dietary changes, and targeted protocols. We use many of those tools ourselves.

The key word is tools.

They should help us understand the body—not make us afraid of it.

Good health is rarely found in one trend, one number, one supplement, or one perfect routine. It’s built by looking at the whole person, strengthening the foundations, and figuring out what your body actually needs.

Use the tools. Keep the context. Don’t lose the human in all the data. 🌿

When we practice empathy and care for others, the brain activates regions involved in connection and emotional regulation. This lowers cortisol (our primary stress hormone) and increases oxytocin—the hormone that supports trust, bonding, and a sense of safety.

In other words…
caring isn’t draining when it comes from a regulated place—
it’s actually supportive to the body.

A healthy, balanced nervous system doesn’t shut down or harden.
It allows you to stay present.
To feel without becoming overwhelmed.
To remain open without losing yourself.

Empathy isn’t weakness.
It’s a sign your body feels safe enough
to stay connected. 🌿
