💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Domestic violence affects more than just the individuals involved. It impacts children, families, and entire communities.

At Advanced Practice Mental Health & Wellness of South Carolina (APMH), we believe that awareness is important, but taking action is what creates change.

As a mental health practice that works closely with the court system, we are proud to offer a court-approved Domestic Violence Intervention Program focused on accountability, education, healthier relationships, and breaking cycles of harmful behavior.

We understand that real change requires more than simply completing a court requirement. It takes recognizing unhealthy patterns, accepting responsibility, learning new ways to manage emotions and conflict, and making a commitment to do better.

💜 We stand with survivors and believe every person deserves to feel safe and respected.

💜 We believe in accountability and helping individuals make meaningful, lasting behavioral changes.

💜 We recognize the impact domestic violence has on children and families, often extending across generations.

💜 We believe that education, intervention, and access to mental health services can help break those cycles.

Domestic violence awareness isn’t just about recognizing the problem. It’s about being part of the solution.

At APMH, we’re committed to doing that work every day, both inside and outside the courtroom.

💜 Your Voice Matters. Your Safety Matters. Change Matters.

🌟 TEAM SHOUTOUT! 🌟
We love seeing our team support and encourage one another!

A special shoutout to Megan Huffling, CMA, one of the newest members of the APMH team. In just her first week, Megan has already made a noticeable impact on the medical side of our practice through her willingness to jump in, help wherever needed, and support our providers and staff.

Valshonda Johnson, CNA, from our Florence office, shared such kind words about Megan:
“Just a week working with you, you have been a big improvement and help with APMH for medications. You have come in and brought a big change to the medical side of the practice in just a week’s time. Kandice and I have been talking highly of you all week. Thank you for being part of the team and always striving to help in any way you can. It’s a pleasure working with you.”

Megan, we are so happy to have you on our team, and Valshonda, thank you for taking the time to recognize a coworker and help create the kind of supportive workplace we want at APMH. 💙

Great teams are built when people work together, recognize one another, and share the same commitment to taking great care of our patients.

Today is Dolly Day! 💗📚

Dolly Parton gave the world music, laughter, and a reminder that kindness can change lives. Through her Imagination Library, she helped children discover the joy of reading and the courage to dream big.

At Advanced Practice Mental Health & Wellness, we see how much it matters when someone believes in a child, supports a family, or simply makes another person feel seen. Today, we’re honoring Dolly’s legacy by looking for one small way to give like Dolly.

What’s one act of kindness you can share today? ✨
