Open Enrollment starts October 15th and goes through December 7th.

So what is open enrollment?
It is a period of time towards the end of the year when you can enroll, change, or renew certain health insurance or benefit plans.

Benefits change yearly, so be sure to check your current insurance. Insurance plans can be a struggle, and we want to help you be prepared!

One of our patients recently received a letter telling him he had to transfer all of his prescriptions because Myrtle Drugs was no longer in network with his insurance.

Except… that wasn’t true… Myrtle Drugs is still in network, and we have no plans to stop participating with his insurance. There was no reason he needed to leave.

Unfortunately, this happens all the time.
Patients are told they have to leave their local pharmacy and use mail order or a PBM-affiliated pharmacy instead. Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) have financial interests in pharmacies they own or are affiliated with, creating incentives to steer prescriptions their way.

Meanwhile, independent pharmacies are fighting to keep serving the patients who choose us. We don’t fight just so we can make more money. In fact, sometimes the reimbursement we receive from the PBM doesn’t even cover the medication itself, let alone the pharmacist and technician time, supplies and everything else that goes into filling it. We fight because YOU’RE OUR PATIENTS!

You chose Myrtle Drugs. You trust us. And that matters more than what any individual prescription pays.
