Freehand Stargazer Lily and Pansies to fill out the rest of this clients upper arm 🖤💐 I’ve been doing a lot of freehand lately and wanted to explain a little on how my process works! Swipe to see heheh
I typically will prepare some type of inspo board for my freehand drawing! Unless I’m getting really loose and wild with it, I’ll typically look at references while I draw for accuracy and form. I also can ask my clients in person if there’s certain flowers they like more than others, and that helps me gather feedback on my drawing too.
I almost always use 3 different color sharpies to make my drawing! A light, medium, and dark tone to progressively build out my shapes. The lightest marker is to just build really loose, big shapes and my flow direction, then progressively darker ones as I define and finalize the look I’m going for.
Before-after drawing!
