Featured here are a few of the beautiful medicinal herbs I’m currently harvesting from my garden, along with some of the many reasons I love working with them. 🌿

💜 Anise Hyssop
Traditionally used to help soothe chest congestion and support healthy digestion when enjoyed as an herbal infusion. It can also be applied topically to help calm minor burns and poison ivy irritation.

💚 Mint
A wonderfully refreshing herb that is helpful in supporting focus, cognitive function, and easing tension headaches.

🩷 Yarrow
One of my favorite first-aid herbs! When applied topically as a fresh poultice, it has traditionally been used to help stop minor bleeding and support the body’s natural healing process. As an herbal infusion, it encouraged sweating, supports the respiratory system during congestion, and has long been used to help reduce a fever. (Fair warning—it’s wonderfully medicinal, and very bitter!)

Each of these herbs are available individually by the ounce at my shop, naplesherbsandart ☀️
They’re also featured in many of my handcrafted herbal tisanes and organic body care products, available in the shop or online at www.desireherbal.com

Thank you so much for following along, supporting my small business, and sharing my love of herbalism. It truly means the world to me. ☺️

Peppermint has been traditionally used to support digestive comfort, helping to ease bloating, gas, and an upset stomach.

Thanks to its naturally occurring menthol, peppermint also offers a cooling effect that can be especially soothing when used topically to relax tired, achy muscles or to promote a sense of easy breathing.

If you’d like to add this versatile herb to your wellness routine, I carry peppermint by the ounce at naplesherbsandart 🍃

You’ll also find it featured in several of my handcrafted tisanes, as well as in my Breathe Easy/Sore Muscle Salve available on my website:

A little appreciation post for lemon balm. 🍋🌿

Calming, uplifting, and beautifully simple—this lovely herb has been used for generations to support relaxation and bring a sense of peace to hectic days. Sometimes the smallest things, like a cup of herbal tea or a few moments in the garden, can make the biggest difference.

Nature knows what it’s doing. ✨💛

Do you grow lemon balm or use it in your wellness routine? I’d love to hear your favorite ways to enjoy this amazing herb! ☀️

Hi there ☺️ I’m Desiree, the heart behind Desire Herbal. I’ve been walking the path of plant medicine for 18 years, with a deep love for growing, foraging, and working closely with the herbs.
I create small-batch herbal goods—tisanes (herbal “tea” blends), tinctures, body oils, salves, lip balms, and more—each one crafted with care and intention.
You can find me at , my cozy shop at the south end of Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes. It’s a sweet little space filled with my herbal offerings, locally made art, and a rotating collection of secondhand treasures and antiques.
If you feel called, come visit ☺️ I’m always happy to talk plants, share what I’ve learned, and connect with kindred spirits.

It’s the perfect time to harvest Violet’s. 💜
They are a rich source of vitamins A and C, as well as calcium and magnesium.
One of my favorite ways to use them is by making a syrup. Not only does it produce a beautiful color, but it may also help soothe an irritated cough, reduce inflammation, and support the lymphatic system.

This time last year, I experienced a tick bite and, about a month later, was diagnosed with Lyme disease after being severely ill for nearly two weeks.
Since then, I’ve incorporated a supportive herbal tisane into my daily routine. This blend includes elderberries, ashwagandha, japanese knotweed, echinacea, ginkgo, turmeric, ginger, willow bark, clove, and black pepper. It has been helpful in managing inflammation, as well as reducing brain fog, fatigue, and feelings of anxiety.
In addition, I regularly use Lion’s Mane, Reishi, and Chaga mushroom extracts, along with cod liver oil, as part of my wellness regimen. For those navigating Lyme disease, these may be supportive options to explore.
For prevention, I also offer an all-organic tick repellent mist that is safe for both people and dogs 🐾

These products are available at my shop, and on my website: www.desireherbal.com 🌱
