“I’ve fallen on the same hip three times. It’s never stopped being angry.”
A subscriber replied to my newsletter with this, and it’s one of the most common stories I hear.
Here’s what’s going on: every hard fall teaches your nervous system that an area isn’t safe. So it guards it.
Muscles brace, you shift your weight, and you start moving around that hip instead of through it.
The bruise heals. The pattern stays. Over the years, the tissue around it adapts, and the tension spreads into your low back, the opposite hip, even your shoulders and feet.
That’s why stretching only the sore spot never sticks.
The good news is that patterns can be retrained.
Swipe through to see how.
Save this if you’ve got an old injury that never fully let go.
Comment HIP and I’ll send you the link to Fascia Foundations, where I teach you how to spot these compensation patterns in your own body.🫶🏻
