💪 Your muscles are one of your body’s biggest tools for controlling blood sugar.

Think of your muscles like a storage tank for glucose (sugar).

When you eat carbohydrates, they are broken down into glucose and released into your bloodstream. Your muscles can pull that glucose out of your blood and store it as glycogen, which your body can use later for energy.

The stronger and more active your muscles are, the more effectively they can take up and use glucose.

That means:

➡️ More muscle activity = more glucose pulled out of the bloodstream
➡️ More glucose stored in muscle = less glucose circulating in the blood
➡️ Better muscle insulin sensitivity = your body doesn’t have to work as hard to manage blood sugar

And here’s the really interesting part:

Your muscles don’t only use glucose when you’re exercising. Regular resistance training and maintaining muscle can make them more responsive to insulin even when you’re resting.

So building and maintaining muscle isn’t just about looking toned or getting stronger.

It’s metabolic health.

Your muscles are literally helping your body manage the sugar in your bloodstream every day. 💪
