Orthopaedic Specialists Dr. Downs is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Tennessee and Mississippi. He is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Orthopaedic Specialists is proud to serve the Middle Tennessee area with six offices in Nashville, Dickson, Gallatin, Centerville and Ashland City with quality orthopedic care. He also achieved a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. His specialties include Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and Shoulder, Knee and Elbow Surgery. He maintains privileges at Centennial Medical Center, Baptist Hospital, Saint Thomas Hospital, Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics Surgery Center, Centennial Surgery Center, and Baptist Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Downs achieved a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He did his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Tennessee at Memphis and at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. He served his Internship in Surgery at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. He was awarded his Medical Degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. He graduated Magna cm Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Downs was a Student Researcher and a Full-time Clinical Researcher in the Loma Linda University Department of Orthopaedics.
