Boulder Canyon Retreat Center I’m a mind-body-spirit alchemist, teacher, healer, and shaman.

Nestled in the ancient granite cradle of Boulder Canyon, the Boulder Canyon Retreat Center is a nature-based living sanctuary where transformation and healing unfolds through use of sacred plant medicine and the framework of classical Tantra. In order to be fully alive in the present, we must sometimes excavate the stories and patterns from our past. I help create and deepen awareness of the connection between the mind, body and spirit through an alchemical process using earth, water, fire and air... Alchemizing and mining the riches of what we might consider stuck emotions. Past events and old patterns now become rich raw materials to alchemize and thrust us forward into the best and fullest version of ourselves.

What happens after the ceremony matters. 🌿

You return to familiar routines, relationships, and responsibilities, carrying something that may still be difficult to put into words.

Integration is the ongoing practice of making room for that experience in everyday life. It can be as simple as pausing before responding, honoring your need for rest, or giving someone you love your full attention.

You don’t have to understand everything at once. Give yourself time, choose one small practice, and find people who can walk alongside you.

At Boulder Canyon Retreat Center, White Eagle Awakening offers community, integration circles, and shared learning beyond ceremony.

What’s one small practice that helps you carry your insights into daily life? 🤍

Leaving the beautiful Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, with a full heart. 🙏🏻

Fourteen uninterrupted days to slow down, turn inward, and deepen my practice. What a blessing to have the time and space to immerse myself so fully.

Feeling grateful for this experience and excited to bring what I’ve learned back to our community. Looking forward to sharing more with you all! 🤍

What becomes possible when we slow down enough to listen?

To the land. To ourselves. To what we’re ready to release and what we want to welcome into our lives.

Meet Shane Young and glimpse the land at Boulder Canyon Retreat Center, where nature, ceremony, and community invite us into a deeper relationship with ourselves and one another.

We’re grateful you’re here, and we look forward to sharing more of this place and the heart behind our work.

Grief needs somewhere to go—and people who can hold it with us.

The five gates of grief offer a way to recognize the many sorrows we may hold and carry:

🌿 Losing what we love. People, relationships, health, places, and seasons of life.

🌿 The parts of ourselves that haven’t felt loved. The tender places we learned to hide to feel accepted.

🌿 The suffering of the world. The pain we feel for our communities, other living beings, and the Earth.

🌿 What we needed but never received. The care, safety, belonging, or support we longed for.

🌿 The grief of those who came before us. Family losses, silences, and unfinished stories that still shape our lives.

Grief rituals give these sorrows a place to be acknowledged. Lighting a candle, speaking a loved one’s name, sharing a story, singing, or sitting together in silence can become an act of remembrance.

Within a caring community, we can be witnessed without being rushed. Someone else’s story may help us find words for our own. Our tears can be met with tenderness and we can remember that we don’t have to carry every sorrow alone.

Save this post for later, and follow BCRC for more on grief rituals, community, and connection. 🤍

Our Fall Harvest Retreat at Boulder Canyon Retreat was a journey back into relationship—with our bodies, with the land, with one another, and with something larger than ourselves.

Together, we explored grief not as something to fix or move past, but as something sacred to be witnessed and held. Through ceremony, ritual, movement, breath, bodywork, time on the land, shared meals, tears, laughter, and community, we created space for what was ready to be felt and released.

Perhaps one of the greatest medicines was simply remembering that we were never meant to do this work alone. Healing happens differently when we are surrounded by people willing to witness us exactly where we are.

A glimpse into a beautiful weekend of remembering. 🍁

Thank you to everyone who brought their hearts, stories, laughter, tears, and presence into this sacred container.

Until we gather again. 🤎

“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation.”
— Bell Hooks

Group retreats are a central piece of our work here at Boulder Canyon Retreat Center. 🤍 Surrounded by nature and held in intentional community, each retreat is designed to support your return to wholeness through connectedness — of mind, body, and spirit.

We provide a grounded, ethical, and integrative container where every element is thoughtfully considered and curated to support renewal, safety, and meaningful inner work.

Consider this a loving invitation to join us on an upcoming group retreat, here in Boulder Canyon or in Mexico. 💌

Affirmation for today’s Full Buck Moon: “I bring my awareness to the larger world of humanity in which I live. I balance my outer active social life with contemplative reflective times of deeper insight.” — Susan Heinz

🌕 This lunation highlights our places in the wider world. Aquarius calls like-minded people together to break societal molds and build a shared future, emphasizing the power of collective effort and humanitarian pursuits.

Called the “Buck Moon,” as homage to the time male deer shed their old antlers and rapidly grow their new ones.

🦌 Have you outgrown something? Are you ready to let go and make way for peak growth?

This may be the perfect time to commit to group consciousness and a growth spurt. Reserve your space in upcoming group offerings with Boulder Canyon Reetrest Center at the link in bio.

We don’t grow alone. Nature teaches us this.

At the Boulder Canyon Retreat Center, we are fortunate to walk among Aspen trees. These Aspens share a massive, underground root system. They are always interconnected.

What appears to be an entire forest of separate Aspen trees is actually a single living organism. Each trunk is a clone — they share the same basic DNA structure, despite looking a little different on the outside. Through their roots, they share food, water, and emergency signals. They send water and sugars from healthy trees to smaller saplings or sick trees. They help each other heal. They each offer themselves to ensure their network thrives.

🤍 Sound familiar? This is human nature. This is the power of community.

At BCRC, we offer one-on-one coaching, plant medicine journeys, and group retreats with Shane. With Mother Nature as our co-facilitator, we are rooted in the understanding that we thrive as an interconnected species. 🪾🫆

If you are ready to connect with your roots, schedule your FREE one-on-one Discovery Call with Shane today using the link in our bio!

Upcoming group retreats include the Inner Fire Retreat (August 20-23) and the Oaxaca Journey (August 26 - September 6). Learn more at the link in bio.

Growth was never meant to happen in a silo. At the Boulder Canyon Retreat Center, we believe in the power of the collective and in nature.

We see how groups stretch and inspire each other’s perception of what their lives can be. We know growth is possible when we look to Mother Nature as our rocksteady guide. 🪨

As our beloved muse, Mary Oliver, says: “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

Will you answer the call to join our community? Will you go all in for the wild and precious, uninhibited version of you waiting on the other side? 🦅

Balancing the peak midsummer heat and the official start of fiery Leo season, we flow with the element of water. 💧

Dancing between the two elements, fire and water, we land in a balanced space where creativity and expression thrive.

The channel between the second chakra (Svadhisthana) and third chakra (Manipura) is a powerful one. A healthy bridge here = living in authenticity.

Are you curious about bridging this connection within? Join the beautiful BCRC community for the inner fire group retreat, upcoming August 20-23. ❤️‍🔥 (link in bio!)
