Currently, service members generally must commit to 4 additional years of service to transfer their GI Bill benefits. Once you leave the military, you can no longer initiate a transfer, even if you have children later in life.

AFSA is fighting for legislation to give veterans more flexibility with the benefits they’ve earned!
