I can still remember gripping the steering wheel as I drove, lying in bed wondering why my heartbeat was racing, and standing at the grocery store checkout without even noticing the person in front of me. I was short with my kids and kept wondering, “What is wrong with me?” 😢
I went to the doctor, and Lexapro was the answer we tried. I experienced a lot of side effects. A few months later, I began to see that there was more beneath my anxiety—and I sensed God inviting me into a deeper journey of healing.
Over time, I was able to taper off the medication. I spent a year doing intensive work and discovered that, for me, healing needed to include my body along with my mind and emotions. 🙌
My journey is still unfolding, but I’m grateful to share what I’ve learned with the people who come alongside me. After teaching about embodied peace at the Garber Women’s Retreat, it became clear that there was a need for more—so I created a four-week class for women before the holiday season gets fully underway.
