A little recap from Tommy's Tattoo Convention 🔥

Big thanks to СИНЕВА for the support, and to Organic Ink Tattoo & VLADIMIR BUSHNEV / TATTOO NEW YORK all the help and great vibes throughout the convention.

Special thanks to my wife Benji for helping organize everything, taking care of me, and making sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire event. ❤️

Massive respect to for sitting like a champ through three days of tattooing! 💪🏻

What a weekend!😮‍💨

BEFORE THE SESSION — 10 answers.
1. Shave yourself?
No. I prep the skin. Home shaving = micro-cuts, extra bleeding, worse hold.
2. Drink for courage?
No. Alcohol = more blood, worse control, worse heal. Come sober.
3. Eat first?
Yes. Empty stomach + adrenaline = fainting. Meal 1–2 hours before.
4. What to wear?
Whatever gives clean access. Loose. Easy to pull up. Nothing tight on fresh work after.
5. Perfume?
Skip it. I sit over you for hours. Clean skin, neutral smell.
6. How long is a session really?
Prep + stencil + work + pauses + wrap. Not “just tattooing.”
7. Phone okay?
Scroll with headphones. No twisting, no screen in my face, no sudden moves.
8. What to bring?
Headphones. Water. Light snack. Charger. Clothes for 4–8 hours.
9. Card or cash?
Both work if you say it in advance. Cash is cleaner. No last-minute “limit cut” surprises.
10. Late?
10–30 min — warn me. More — session gets cut or moved. Deposit holds the slot, not a grudge.
Show up ready. I handle the rest.✌🏻

I’m Dmitry Damóer and no, I’m not an alcoholic.

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. What started with copying cartoons eventually turned into 15 years in Russia’s graffiti scene.
My work made it into exhibitions, publications and high-paying commissions. At one point, I was making around $5,000 a week.
Then I came to New York and decided to start over as a tattoo artist.
Black & grey realism was completely new to me. But the same obsession with drawing, discipline and constant improvement followed me here.
I’m still not where I want to be-and that’s exactly what keeps me moving.
My path hasn’t been easy or pretty. There was resistance, pain, betrayal, starting over, and learning almost everything from scratch.
But I’d rather struggle while becoming better than stay comfortable and stop evolving.
If that mindset resonates with you, you’re probably the kind of person I want to tattoo.

Mickey Mouse has always been a symbol of happiness and imagination. In this piece, I imagined him as a smooth plastic figure- a reflection on how familiar symbols change with time and become part of our visual culture.
