Have you ever walked into a room and forgotten why you went there? Or spent ten minutes looking for your glasses, only to discover they were on your head?
Welcome to the adventure of growing older!
In her wonderful book Goddesses in Everywoman, Jean Shinoda Bolen reflects on how, as she grew older, she began to lose the ability to read the fine print. Instead of lamenting the loss of those little details, she began to wonder whether aging was inviting her to see something greater: the bigger picture of life.
I love that wisdom. There is something beautiful about growing older and learning to see the world with a wider lens, with greater compassion, acceptance, and perhaps a little less concern for the small stuff. Of course, we still need to remember where we put the car keys!
I hear about forgetfulness from my friends, my clients, and my wife. And yes, I have my own moments when I wonder what I was looking for before I started looking for it.
As an herbalist, I've spent much of my life exploring how plants can nourish and support us through life’s different seasons. I created my Ageless Formula with that intention, bringing together herbs traditionally used to support memory and cognitive well-being.
My wife has been taking it for two years. She tells me she notices a difference in her mental clarity when she misses a few days. Eventually, she'll announce, "Oh, I need to start taking my Ageless again!" I always smile at the irony of forgetting to take something intended to support memory.
Growing older is a privilege, even when it comes with a few misplaced keys and unfinished thoughts. We deserve to meet those changes with kindness toward ourselves, curiosity about what nature has to offer, and a healthy sense of humor.
If you’d like to learn more about my Ageless Formula and the herbs I’ve brought together to support cognitive well-being as we age, I invite you to visit my website, where you can explore the formula and purchase it for yourself.
May we continue to see the bigger picture while remembering where we left our glasses.
