Baby and farm working together!
The baby may be growing everyday, but there is still work to be done, so the little one will go alongside me getting used to the tractor rumble, the pumps purring, and the movement throughout the day.
Sometimes I say to myself maybe this is calming them down, even putting them to sleep (that’s the hope).
Soon it will be here and be able to let me know itself, but in the mean time the baby gets to go to work with mom everyday, and when the little one is here it will finally get to see what all that ruckus was about.
The belly keeps getting bigger, and bending down is no longer my strong suit, but I will say farming makes me feel like a strong mama, even with all the waddles, needs to take a sitting break, and sometimes just feeling less adequate, but I am growing a human, so just as I think the outside world will be such a big adjustment for them, learning how to farm and have a little one is one for me.
So for all those working mamas out there you’re doing great!

Mother Nature may take but always gives back..
With this first frost comes a time where our summertime crops are no longer (like peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, flowers) but with it comes this glistening beauty and calm that makes the takeaway much more blissful.
Each year the cold comes with the ending of the summer season, but the next year the warmth brings blossoms in spring. It may come and go but with each season beauty comes with it.
And I can also say I’m a pretty huge fan when soup season really gets kicked into full gear, so although summer crops are no longer, the autumnal veggies are here to keep us going, and of course we did cover our greens so we will still be seeing some of them till the end of the season🍲🎃

A big thanks to Rosamaria, Annamaria, and Lucia Anna Valentina for making such a wonderful night happen!
I have known these ladies since I was a little one, and the passion they have for food is truly shown in every dish they make. They love fresh food just like we do, and even make sure every January I will have there tomato plants for there gardens for their sauce making.
Watching everyone work together to create such a delicious dish that has been passed through generations and be brought to our farm to table was like having a night with family.
I can’t wait till next year’s dinner, and will be making gnocchi at home now for my Italian husband (hopefully as good as the nonnas)

It’s October, it’s chilly, it’s soup season, and we have lots of fresh veggies!
It’s the perfect time to make those recipes that you’ve been saving, or that soup you’ve been craving. My favorite time of year to get cozy and turn on the oven to add a little warmth to home.
Come this weekend to grab yours!

The grills are done!
It took me a little while to edit this video, and make sure to get all the steps of the process of making the grills a new edition to our Big Red Barn.
When my dad first brought these to the farm I could see how amazing they would be but had no clue as to how it would turn out. It was better than I imagined. They are super sturdy, create lots of heat, and look amazing.
I feel so blessed to have a family where dreams like this one can come true. My dad saw it and made it happen 👏
I can’t wait to have them not only be a part of our future events, but events that you all may have here!

We did it!

We always have a little break from lettuce during the hottest part of the season, but now it is back!
All of our produce is grown here on our farm. For all those that shop at our farm store it is harvested and then directly goes to our farm store. This means less channels that it has to go through and less possibility of contamination.
This bacteria outbreak is caused not by the farmers but by the corporate process.
That being said I think that’s why it is so important to buy directly from your farmer - not an online food service, not from the grocery store - directly from your farmer. This can help to change the ag industry, one small decision at a time.
So our lettuce is back! No bacteria included (accept for the good kind for your microbiome). And if you can’t shop with us, try and find a local farmer near you, or a local shop that provides as fresh as they can get produce.
