Did you know women's bodies make testosterone too?
Here are a few facts most people never hear. Women produce testosterone naturally in the ovaries and adrenal glands. It's a small fraction of what men make. And levels gradually decline with age, on their own timeline, separate from menopause.
Women also have testosterone receptors throughout the body, so it plays a role in things like muscle, bone health, and libido. It's one piece of the full hormone picture, and it deserves a real conversation.
That's how we look at women's hormone health at Invigorate Wellness Medical, in Trinity, FL, and by telemedicine across Florida.
