It’s open enrollment season for health insurance!

Now is a great time to review your current coverage and make sure your health insurance plan is still meeting your needs. Whether you’re considering switching plans, reviewing your benefits, or making changes for the upcoming year, it’s important to know what your coverage includes.

As you explore your options, don’t forget to check that your preferred healthcare providers are in-network. If you’re a patient at Kisha Cares Family Practice, we encourage you to verify that your new or existing plan allows you to continue receiving care with us.

Open enrollment dates vary depending on your insurance, so be sure to check your specific deadlines.

A little planning now can help you avoid unexpected changes to your healthcare coverage in the new year!

We love seeing our patients recommend Kisha Cares Family Practice to friends, family, and members of our local Facebook groups! Your continued support and trust mean so much to us.

We did want to share one quick reminder for those spreading the word: Kisha Cares accepts patients ages 10 and older!

We appreciate every recommendation and just want to make sure everyone has the correct information when referring someone to our practice.

Thank you for continuing to support Kisha Cares and helping others find a healthcare provider they can trust!

If you ask Kisha what she does as a Family Nurse Practitioner, you might want to pull up a chair. There’s a lot to cover!

From diagnosing and treating illnesses to managing chronic conditions, providing preventative care, educating patients, and everything in between, Kisha wears a lot of hats throughout the day.

But family medicine is about so much more than treating symptoms. It’s about building relationships, advocating for patients, and helping individuals and families take charge of their health at every stage of life.

The to-do list might be never-ending, but Kisha wouldn’t have it any other way!

Happy National Primary Care Week!

Primary care is about so much more than treating you when you’re sick. It’s about building relationships, staying on top of preventive care, managing chronic conditions, and having someone in your corner through every stage of life.

At Kisha Cares Family Practice, we believe healthcare should be personal. We take pride in getting to know our patients, listening to their concerns, and helping them make informed decisions about their health.

This week, we’re celebrating the importance of primary care and thanking our patients for trusting us to be part of their healthcare journey.

Your health matters, and so does having a provider who cares.

Have you been putting off scheduling your mammogram?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Kisha has an important reminder for her patients: Don’t put your preventative screenings on the back burner!

Early detection can make a significant difference when it comes to breast cancer. Staying up to date with recommended screenings is one of the most important steps you can take to be proactive about your health.

Not sure if you’re due for a mammogram? Talk with Kisha about your personal risk factors and when you should be screened.

Your health deserves to be a priority, not an afterthought.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a reminder of just how important awareness, early detection, and staying on top of your preventative care can be.

Take a moment this month to check in with yourself. Know what is normal for your body, talk with your healthcare provider about any changes or concerns, and make sure you’re keeping up with recommended screenings based on your age and individual risk factors.

Breast cancer awareness is about more than wearing pink. It’s about having conversations, asking questions, and making your health a priority.

If you’re unsure about what screenings may be appropriate for you, talk with your healthcare provider at your next visit.

We want to hear from you.

When it comes to healthcare today, what do you feel is missing?

Maybe it’s more time with your provider. Better communication. Easier access to appointments. Feeling heard. More education about your health. Or something completely different.

At Kisha Cares, we believe listening to patients is an important part of providing better care, and we’d love to hear your perspective.

What’s one thing you wish you could change about your healthcare experience right now?

Let us know in the comments.

Improving your health doesn’t always mean making big changes. Sometimes, it’s the small habits we practice every day that make the biggest difference!

Staying hydrated, getting quality sleep, making time for movement, and creating a little more balance in your daily routine are all simple ways to support your overall health and well-being.

But don’t forget, taking care of yourself also means staying on top of your preventative care! Keeping up with routine checkups, recommended screenings, and annual wellness visits is just as important as the healthy habits you practice at home.

You don’t have to change everything overnight. Start small, stay consistent, and make your health a priority both in and out of the doctor’s office.
