Creative Healing Integration, Inc. The Creative Healing Integration (CHI) is a place to find a variety of resources to support your Mother Wound healing journey. Hi. I’m Mari Grande.

Author of 📘 "Overcoming The Mother Wound" available NOW. I am passionate about finding creative ways to connect, heal, and learn. As a licensed Art and Trauma Therapist, I love working with people and being part of their healing experience. I developed this space, CHI Creative Healing Integration ™, from what I believe is my soul’s purpose. After having a private in-person practice for over 20 years, I leaped into the online world as a venue to reach even more people. Creative Healing Integration has become a place where there are a variety of offerings and resources. You’ll find courses, guided meditations, and creative exercises to bring calm, clarity, and comfort. Coming from a trauma-informed background, I am aware of the healing powers that lie within, the courage and grace required to heal from adversity. This phenomenon is expressed in the Dahlia flower, which I honor as the Creative Healing Integration, Inc., logo.

What could become possible if you allowed this cycle to complete itself?

October has been asking that question of so many of us. What has become too heavy to carry? What are you holding because it is still alive, and what are you holding because you are afraid to release it?

The trees seem to understand something we often forget. Letting go is not the opposite of living. Sometimes it is how life prepares us to begin again.

This Sunday, October 25th, we meet live on Zoom for The MARI Great Round: Developmental Stages in Motion. We will move through the twelve stages of the Great Round and end with an experiential mandala process, so you can feel what we explore, not only understand it.

It is approved for 2.5 ATCB CE credits for eligible art therapists, and it is open to anyone who feels drawn to this work. No prior MARI training is needed.

Register through the link in my bio.

Stage 10 of the MARI Great Round is not only a concept I teach. It is something I have lived.

I was an art teacher. I loved art and I loved teaching it. And yet I was becoming increasingly frustrated by the emphasis on technique and the finished product. Something in me knew that art could reach much deeper layers of who we are.

That longing gradually led me toward art therapy, where creativity could become a way of listening for the voice of the soul and supporting others in discovering their own.

That is Stage 10. Not the end of what matters. The completion of one way of holding it, so that something truer can take its place.

If this is stirring something in you, we meet this Sunday for The MARI Great Round: Developmental Stages in Motion. There is still time to join us.

Development is not only something that happened in childhood. It is a set of themes we continue to revisit throughout our lives.

That is what the MARI Great Round has shown me, and it is how my work on the mother wound led me here. The mother wound begins in early experiences of attachment: what we received, what we needed, what was missing, and how we began to become ourselves in relationship with the people around us. The Great Round gives clinicians another way to see how those themes return, in adult relationships, in transitions, in creative work, and in the people we sit with.

On Sunday, October 25, I am teaching The MARI Great Round: Developmental Stages in Motion, a live online course from 12:00 to 2:30 pm Eastern. We will move through the four quadrants and twelve stages of the Great Round through a developmental and attachment informed lens, and we will make a mandala together, with time to reflect on what opens.

The course offers 2.5 ATCB continuing education credits for eligible art therapists seeking board certification hours. Other mental health professionals, graduate students, and educators are warmly welcome for learning and professional enrichment. No prior MARI training is required, and this is not MARI practitioner training.

I would love to have you with us.

A little exciting book news!

When I wrote “Overcoming the Mother Wound,” I wanted to give voice to something so many of us carry, often without realizing how deeply our earliest relationships continue to shape our lives.

This book grew out of years of clinical work, personal exploration, and my own healing journey. At its heart is the possibility of understanding ourselves more deeply, loosening old patterns, and finding our way toward greater freedom.

So it’s especially meaningful to see my book being featured at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2026, reaching readers beyond the borders where it began.

Thank you to Stephanie Larkin and Red Penguin Books for helping this work travel a little farther into the world!

September ends today. And with it, the last stage of the Manifesting quadrant of the MARI Great Round.

Autumn is beginning. The light is shifting. And there is something in the air that always asks me to slow down and look honestly at what I am carrying into the next season.

Not with urgency. Not with a long list of things to fix or change or improve. With the kind of quiet, honest curiosity that the circle always invites.

What came to fruition this season, even in small ways? What did I tend to that actually grew? And what am I ready to release as the earth itself begins to let go?

Stage 9 reminded us that fulfillment is not the end. It is a vista point. A pause at the height of the mountain before the circle continues to turn.

The next turning is coming. And it begins, as it always does, with a breath, a center, and the willingness to begin again.

What are you ready to release as the season turns?

Why boundaries are developmental

Boundaries are often talked about as a skill to build. Something to practice, assert, and get better at.
In the MARI Great Round, boundaries are understood a little differently. They emerge as part of a developmental movement, the process of learning what belongs inside the self and what belongs outside it.

This shift matters clinically. When a client struggles with boundaries, it is rarely only about assertiveness. It often points to an earlier developmental process that did not have the safety or support to fully form.

Seeing boundaries this way can open a different kind of clinical conversation, one rooted in development rather than deficit.

When I think about what Creatively Calm means, I always come back to the same image.

Not the absence of chaos. Not a life emptied of difficulty or noise.

But a center that holds.

A place inside you that knows how to breathe even when everything around you is moving fast.

The Creatively Calm Mandala Moment is a free resource I created for exactly this kind of day. The days when the mind is loud and the body is tight and you need something simple, grounding, and creative to help you find your way back.

It takes only a few minutes. And it asks nothing of you except a willingness to slow down and let the circle do what it does best.

Hold you.

If you have been circling the MARI mandala work, curious about the stages, or wondering what the Great Round might reflect about where you are in your own life, I would love to welcome you into the MARI Mandala Corner Inner Circle.

The Inner Circle is a free way to stay a little closer to this work.

You’ll hear first about upcoming mandala workshops and courses, along with an occasional reflection, creative prompt, or card pull from me.

Stage 9 has me thinking about relationship and belonging, and about the ways we come to know ourselves not only through solitude, but through connection with others.

The Inner Circle is one small doorway into that larger mandala world.

No course to complete. No commitment to keep up.

Just a place to stay connected to the work and to what may be unfolding within you.

Join the MARI Mandala Corner Inner Circle through the link in my bio.
