VMV Hypoallergenics

VMV Hypoallergenics The Safest, Most Proven Effective Care On The Planet. Validated Hypoallergenic, clinically-published We’re skincerely thrilled to meet you!
(49)

VMV HYPOALLERGENICS® offers the safest, most proven effective care on the planet.

1 in 4 people is allergic to common ingredients in skincare and cosmetics: we're made for the 1 in 4, extra-safe for everyone else. We're here to save the world's skin. That might sound like a lofty claim but it's really just what we "dew"...what we've always done. We have over 75 published (even awarded!) clinical

studies in medical journals and conventions — including the first and only hypoallergenic “grading” system. Proven Safety:

VMV was the first – and is still the only – brand to rate its hypoallergenicity. Our VH-Rating System is published in one of the leading peer-reviewed dermatological journals in the world and shows less than 0.1% reported reactions to our products in over 30 years. Our VH-Number Rating System is recognized as an effective way to objectively validate hypoallergenic claims in cosmetics. The “VH-Number” rating system “grades” a product’s safety based on how many allergens it does not contain, as referenced by the list of allergens compiled by objective, independent institutions the North American Contact Dermatitis Group + European Surveillance System on Contact Allergies. There are now 109 top allergens that are ingredients frequently found in cosmetics, or common cross-reactants/contaminants of cosmetics. VMV’s products are free of most or all 109 allergens, as reflected by the VH rating on the label. Uniquely, VMV continuously reviews studies and reformulates products if even just one ingredient becomes identified as an allergen. Proven Efficacy:

Our claims are backed by randomized, double-blind, evidence-based clinical studies, over 75 of which have been presented and published (even awarded!) in medical journals + conventions around the world. Created in 1979 (and still formulated and tested) by a widely-published, renowned dermatologist-dermatopathologist, we understand both the skin’s surface and its micropscopic structure. VMV HYPOALLERGENICS® stands behind a firm commitment to providing the most effective, and safest, products available. We are meticulous: Validated Hypoallergenic – VH-109/109 (sans all 109 common allergens), 100% All-Types-Of-Fragrance-Free, 100% Free of Dyes, Allergenic Surfactants, Phthalates, Parabens + Preservatives. Usage + Patch-Tested and Non-Comedogenic.* Every little thing that goes into or near a product, and the product itself is patch tested for skin safety. And that’s just the beginning! What follows is a dizzying barrage of clinical tests, both in laboratories (in vitro) + on volunteers (in vivo), never on animals. VMV HYPOALLERGENICS® is, uniquely, hypoallergenicity as a lifestyle: we’re committed to providing the safest, most (proven!) effective care on the planet for men, women and children; the most stringent standards of clinical efficacy. Skinfatuated: we love what we "dew." Skintellectual: we know what we're doing. Skingenious: we come up with creative, innovative solutions for all your (and your family's!) skin health needs.

* Please make sure you read each individual product's label to ensure the best match for your needs

Thank you, , for this important talk! She, plus organizations like and , are doing such brilliant work. 👏 Many visible differences (such as burns, vitiligo, psoriasis, etc.) can’t be hidden. Should they be? We certainly don’t think so.

Focus on health, not visible markers of “normal” or “perfect.” Everyone has value and deserves to be free of discrimination based on their physical appearance.

Repost

Can I have 17min 38secs of your time, please?

I would love you to watch the talk I did explaining what ‘visible difference’ is and why I continue to show up in this world as a big, bald woman even though I know, unconsciously, you would prefer me not to...

Kids want to be involved!

A new means lots of joy … and lots of other things. Instead of feeling left out or confused about the new addition to the family getting all the attention, older kids can feel included and empowered when they’re given a job. And breastfeeding parents could certainly use the help! Here are some ideas:

Make her a Boo-Boo Balm Firefighter in charge of bringing it when a “fire” (owie) needs putting out (such as sore ni***es from breastfeeding) and making sure it’s stored properly in its “home.” Guardian of The Super Oil is another one for your Oil’s Well Virgin coconut oil.

Make him Chief Diaper Supervisor who keeps count and makes sure a fresh stash is always available.

Lullaby Master’s another role. Your little one can pick songs they think are perfect for different situations and sing to their new sibling.

What other jobs have you given your older kids when a new baby’s joined the family?

What should be in every supply stash: Virgin coconut oil and Boo-Boo Balm!

Oil’s Well Nurturing Do-It-Oil combines our pure, first-cold-pressed virgin coconut oil with monolaurin. It’s a fave of nursing parents for relief and healing because virgin coconut oil is safe to eat, monolaurin is found naturally in breastmilk, and both have anti-inflammatory, healing, antimicrobial properties.

Keep Boo-Boo Balm handy for more serious injuries but wipe it off (with Oil’s Well if wiping is painful) before the next feeding.

Both products are multitasking wonders for mom and baby, with maaaaaaany other uses!

All-Types-Of-Fragrance-Free, allergen-free, dye-free, paraben-free, preservative-free, non-comedogenic, clinically-proven.

Some ways to support parents

Offer to help with as many “simple” tasks as possible. Breastfeeding takes a lot of energy and sleep deprivation can knock anyone down. Anything from taking diaper change duty to doing laundry or the dishes, having food delivered, or running errands can make a world of difference.

Give Know-It-Oil, a pure, single-origin first-cold-pressed virgin coconut oil. It’s a welcome balm for cracked or painful ni***es.

For more painful lesions, offer Boo-Boo Balm (just remember to wipe it off before the next feeding).

Don’t bring in bugs from outside. Rub Kid Gloves or Id Monolaurin Gel when helping out and before handling baby, parent, or baby’s things.

Brilliant post from of sharing such powerful wisdom. Skin, body, self: “this is my vessel.” We must prioritize (re)learning to love it.

What did you think of this?

Original:

“‘Let’s please celebrate who we are as we are because we are magnificent’ was one of the comments to the Emma Thompson video I posted a couple weeks ago. So was ‘be radical and love yourself’ ❤️ sadly the majority of the comments though were commiserating with Emma sharing personal details and stories about self criticism and loathing, even hatred. Then intermingled with those were a few from folks saying they ‘loved their bodies’ and that we should all follow. It’s a complicated issue for sure but what seems clear is that we want to talk about it! We want to normalize it and we want to make the future better for our kids. That’s certainly the case for me.

For those that shared personal feelings with me, thank you. Thank you for sharing this space with me, for venting and for supporting one another. I am sending love to you and strength …

‘I don’t know about anyone else (though I suspect it’s much the same for most women), but this speaks to me on such a visceral level it makes me cry.‘

‘I don’t hate my body anymore. I love it. In its imperfection or in its finest moments. I’m strong. I’m healthy. I’m capable. My body is one of my greatest gifts.’

‘I wished hard for roles that didn’t have expectations for physical “beauty.” It gets old, having to worry about that on top of being strong, flexible, accurate, artistically stylish, technically secure and most of all, honest and expressive. It shouldn’t even be in my top ten list of concerns, but all too often it feels primary.’

‘I tell you what, I RESPECT my body. I’m like “Damn girl, look at you carrying the the groceries from the car, look at you climbing those stairs with only a slight twinge in my knees, look at you being 42 and looking like I earned those years.’ ❤️

We’re working hard to get our lipsticks back in stock … in the meantime, take care of those lips with Boo-Boo Balm!

 WHY LIPS GET SO DRY
Like the rest of your skin, your have a stratum corneum (outermost layer). But this protective layer is thinner on lips than on any other skin on your body. Combine that with a lack of oil glands (lips rely on saliva for moisture) and you’ve got one organ that’s prone to dryness.

 BOO-BOO BALM …
… may be the last lip balm you ever try. Just three ingredients that work together to make this salve ideal for dry, sensitive lips.

 COCONUT OIL …
… has fatty acids native to skin and can help heal a compromised barrier. It’s also an excellent humectant, locking in vital moisture.

 MONOLAURIN …
… soothes lips and keeps them safe from microbes that love to enter through cracks and fissures.

 PETROLEUM JELLY …
… provides excellent barrier protection and more moisture locking-in benefits.

Dark blotches can be caused by things that are supposed to treat them 😳

🔴 Some skincare products for melasma — and sunscreens! — contain photo-allergens like fragrance that can actually cause more hyperpigmentation. Chooser safer options with anti-inflammatories like Illuminants and Stay-On-Point or Armada.

⚠️ Certain actives like hydroquinone can be excellent at lightening discolorations initially but are often too irritating for long-term use and can cause a blue-black hyperpigmentation called ochronisis that’s even more difficult to treat.

🔅 Some laser treatments can cause hyperpigmentation, especially in deeper skin tones. See a dermatologist who is an expert in laser treatments for darker skins or who uses a non-radiation machine like Enerjet.

😇 Allergen-&-Comedogen-Free is the way to go to prevent irritations and acne that can lead to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. And ask your dermatologist about a photo-patch test to more accurately identify what’s causing your dark blotches.

THE best way to treat hyperpigmentation is to prevent it.

Here’s the thing: hyperpigmentations are NOTORIOUS for being very hard to treat. The best approach is to prevent them from happening.

What are the top causes? Sun and light exposure (including indoor light) and any reaction (rashes, acne, insect bites, etc.) because they can lead to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Stay-On-Point (Armada Post-Procedure in ) is a prevention powerhouse:

It’s a thick, physical barrier; hardly anything gets through.

It prevents allergens and irritants from contact with your skin (which is why it’s also great to use before touching things you’re allergic to — almost like a cream glove!)

It has none of the 109 top contact allergens and no irritants or photo-allergens. It’s non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic, too.

All-Types-Of-Fragrance-Free, dye-free, paraben-free, preservative-free, and clinically-proven.

Your skin’s bearable lightness of being

So here’s the thing …

A surprising amount of treatments for hyperpigmentation contain stuff that causes it like fragrances, dyes, and other photo-allergens.

Active ingredients can be irritating (it’s sort of part of why they work). Some products avoid this by lowering the concentration of actives to a point that lessens their efficacy. We use unbuffered (undiluted) actives at concentrations clinically-proven to be effective.

We reduce the risk of irritation by making the rest of the formulation as allergen-free as possible, non-comedogenic, and non-acnegenic; by adding skin-soothers; by providing deeeetailed instructions for safe use; and by offering a pH-adjusted cleanser to prevent wild swings in pH and protect the skin’s barrier.

Each Illuminants Cream comes with a Stay-On-Point to prevent repigmentation and serve as a barrier against allergens, photo-allergens, and other irritants.

All-Types-Of-Fragrance-Free, dye-free, paraben-free, preservative-free, and clinically-proven.

Which cream goes first?? 😵‍💫 Swipe for a simple way to remember the correct sequence of your skincare product application! 🔢

Thin to thick! Or washoff > waters > lipids (creams) > protection

The basic thing to remember is that thinner waters and alcohols can’t pe*****te thicker creams and oils.

🚿 Wash-Offs: start with (gently) cleansed skin.

💧Waters: toners. When using multiple toners, apply with Id Bump-Free Toner first — being oil-soluble, salicylic acid gets to the inner pores, helping other actives pe*****te better.

🧴 Lipids (fats): creams first then oils. When using multiple creams, start with Id Lotion first, then Re-Everything or Illiminants. End with Know-It-Oil virgin coconut oil.

🛡️ Protect: Armada Sun + Light Screen or Stay-On-Point to protect against indoor and outdoor light as well as content allergens.

Plants, flowers & fragrances cause hyperpigmentation!

July is Hyperpigmentation & Melasma Awareness Month!

While exposure to sun and light (including indoor light from lamps and your computer screen) is the top cause of hyperpigmentation, other substances can, too. Many top contact allergens, for example, are also PHOTO-allergens (they react with light to cause hyperpigmentations). These are some of the most common:

Flowers, fruits, plants — no matter how organic.
Fragrances (including aromatherapy and essential oils), masking fragrances, and flavors.
 Dyes and top preservatives.
 Chlorine.
When spending time in gardens or outdoors (or in a pool), make sure your sun & light screen doubles as a physical barrier (like Stay-On-Point or Armada Post-Procedure).
Some melasma products contain fragrances, essential oils, dyes, and preservatives — the same things that can cause the hyperpigmentation you’re trying to treat. Choose safer products like Illuminants and avoid photo-allergens in other products that you use.
Dealing with stubborn melasma? Ask your doctor about a photo-patch test to better identify what you need to avoid.
