Found out my Transplant Surgeon is leaving my hospital and moving to another state to be closer to family for his daughter. I’m devastated. He didn’t want to tell me while I was in the hospital bc he wanted me to focus on my recovery and not worry about his leaving. But I found out Wednesday and his last day is Monday! I thought he would see me through this first year post double transplant and I’m really sad he’s leaving. I feel like my safety blanket is being taken away.
And at the same time I feel so incredibly grateful that I got the call for transplant in time to have him do my surgery and see me through all the issues and re-admissions that came up the first month.
Dr Robinson I’ve never met a surgeon who was so kind and dedicated to making sure I was ok. Not only did you to an amazing job on my 8 hour surgery in the middle of the night but you also figured out the answer to every issue that came up after and assured me that everything would be fine when I was scared out of my mind. Thank you for everything. I’ll never forgot you. From advocating for my Transplants to now. All you do does not go unnoticed!!! You saved my life and gave me a second chance to have one worth living! 💪🏽🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💚💙💕💕💕💪🏽
