Members of the Mount Sinai Health System community were proud to participate in the 57th annual African American Day Parade in Harlem, coming together with colleagues and the community for an afternoon filled with celebration, connection, and community.

A little rain didn’t stop us! Our Mount Sinai team kept the energy going and the steps moving as we walked the parade route.

Thank you to everyone who walked with us, cheered us on, and helped make the day a memorable one. We’re grateful to everyone who showed up and made the most of the day, rain and all!

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, begins at sundown on September 20 and is considered the holiest day of the Jewish year. It is a time for reflection, repentance, and renewal, offering an opportunity to seek forgiveness and look toward the year ahead with intention.

We wish all who observe Yom Kippur a meaningful fast and a day of reflection, peace, and hope.

As you connect with colleagues and loved ones who observe, you may hear or share the traditional greeting, “G’mar Chatimah Tovah,” meaning, “May you be sealed in the Book of Life.” You may also wish someone an easy and meaningful fast.

A memorable moment at Aspen Ideas: Health!

Our Administrative Fellows were excited to connect with Ruth Katz, Director of Aspen Ideas: Health, Vice President of the Aspen Institute, and Executive Director of its Health, Medicine and Society Program. As a nationally recognized leader in health policy, Katz has dedicated her career to bringing together leaders and innovators to tackle today's most important health care challenges.

Connecting, learning, and advancing health equity at Aspen Ideas: Health!

Administrative Fellowship alumni Jean-Luc Coletta, MHA, Nina Williams, MPH, Ellina Babar, MPA, and Tyler Nichols, MPH, joined Pamela Abner, MPA, CPXP, Senior Vice President, Chief Health Equity Officer, and Chief Diversity Operations Officer, alongside Uché Blackstock, MD, Founder and CEO of Advancing Health Equity.

Dr. Blackstock participated in a panel moderated by Dr. Kenneth Davis focused on reimagining medical education to better serve patients and communities. A nationally recognized physician and health equity leader, Dr. Blackstock founded Advancing Health Equity to help health care organizations embed equity into leadership, strategy, and clinical practice. She was recognized by TIME as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Health and is the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir, Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine.

We are proud to see Mount Sinai leaders and Administrative Fellowship alumni engaging in conversations that help shape the future of health equity and health care.
