What makes a healthy protein bar?

Not all protein bars are created equal. Rachel Brief, MS RD, Registered Dietitian at The Lanby, shares a few simple things to look for when choosing one.

Start with the ingredient list. The first few ingredients make up the bulk of the product, so ideally, you want to see sources of protein, healthy fats, and fiber toward the top.

Then, check the nutrition facts:
➕ 10+ grams of protein
➕ 5+ grams of fiber
➕ Single-digit grams of sugar

As a general rule, you want the protein and fiber to outweigh the amount of sugar.

B.T.R. NATION bars check these boxes, which is why they’re one of The Lanby’s favorite options to always keep on hand.

Stop treating the symptom. Start treating the why.

When you keep putting Band-Aids on symptoms, you may quiet the problem without actually addressing what’s causing it.

At The Lanby, we look beyond the symptom to understand the root cause—so we can build a personalized plan designed to help you feel better and stay better.

Because managing symptoms isn’t the same as solving the problem.

Can a protein bar be breakfast?

Yes—with a little strategy.

Rachel Brief, Registered Dietitian at The Lanby, shares how to make a protein bar work when you’re short on time. Since it may not be as substantial as a full breakfast, plan to have your next meal a little earlier so you’re not running on empty.

And when choosing a protein bar, quality matters. We love pairing B.T.R. NATION protein bar with something else to make breakfast more balanced and satisfying, like:
➕ Greek yogurt + berries
➕ Cottage cheese + berries
➕ Banana + almond butter
➕ A latte with 2% or whole milk + a hard-boiled egg

The goal? More protein, fiber, and staying power to support steady energy and keep you satisfied through the morning.

Your healthcare shouldn’t be a puzzle.

Without a primary care doctor connecting the dots, you can end up becoming your own quarterback—running from one specialist to the next, with each provider focused on just one piece of the puzzle.

The result? Siloed care that doesn’t always account for the whole you.

At The Lanby, we bring your care together. Your Care Team connects the dots across your health, creating one cohesive plan designed to improve both efficiency and outcomes.

Less running around. More connected care.

Do you distribute your protein throughout the day?

It’s not just about how much protein you eat—it’s also about when you eat it.

Rachel Brief, MS RD, Registered Dietitian at The Lanby, shares why spreading protein throughout the day can help support fullness, steady energy, and muscle maintenance and growth.

Rather than saving the majority of your protein for dinner, aim to include 20–30 grams at each meal and around 10 grams at snacks. Starting with a protein-packed breakfast is an especially helpful way to support steady energy throughout the day.

One easy snack option? B.T.R. NATION bars, with 15 grams of plant-based protein to help you meet your protein goals between meals.

Pack Up for Backup. One of the healthiest habits you can build—and one you can practice every day.

Rachel Brief, MS RD, Registered Dietitian at The Lanby, shares a simple strategy: always have something nourishing on hand so you’re never caught without a healthy, satisfying option.

For us, that often looks like a B.T.R. NATION. With protein and fiber to help keep you full and satisfied, it’s an easy snack to throw in your bag for busy days, commutes, and everything in between.

A little planning ahead can make healthy choices a whole lot easier. Your future self will thank you.

Rachel, our Registered Dietitian, is breaking down PCOS’s new name change to PMOS and why our care team is genuinely excited about it.

This is more than a rebrand. It’s a reflection of a deeper, more accurate understanding of the condition. PMOS now captures the full picture: acne, insulin resistance, weight changes, and type 2 diabetes risk—not just ovarian cysts or irregular cycles.

Why does that matter? Because a better name means earlier diagnosis. Earlier diagnosis means earlier intervention. And earlier intervention means more comprehensive, long-term support for your metabolic health and fertility.

At The Lanby, we know that 1 in 8 women who come to us are navigating PMOS and we know that no two experiences look the same. Our care is never one-size-fits-all. It’s built around you, your symptoms, and your goals.

If any of this resonates, we’re here. Head to the link in bio to learn more about The Lanby membership and schedule your complementary consultation call.

Last night, our Women in Medicine series continued with some of the most respected names in healthcare.

An evening of cocktails, candid conversation, and brilliant minds across specialties, united by a shared purpose: to build community, exchange hard-earned wisdom, and rise together.

This series is a living reflection of how we practice at The Lanby — care that’s connected, collaborative, and built on trusted relationships. Because the best outcomes happen when people and perspectives come together.

We’re proud to keep creating this space in partnership with Commodore Nursing.

More evenings like this on the way.
