✨Today is officially 20 years since I became a licensed esthetician.
That’s a long time. Most of my adult life.
And somehow I still love this.
I still love skincare. I still get excited about ingredients. I still want to try the new products. I still love putting my hands on someone’s face and watching them settle. I still love seeing someone look in the mirror after a treatment and feel better about their reflection.
But twenty years has also given me a pretty healthy bu****it detector.
I’ve watched miracle ingredients come and go. I’ve watched technology completely change what’s possible. I’ve seen about 19465 next best things. I’ve watched about 7652 rules get resurrected from the dead.
And the longer I do this, the more convinced I am that beauty doesn’t need to be nearly as complicated as we’ve made it.
Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It doesn’t need to be perfect. And it definitely shouldn’t make you feel bad about yourself.
Beauty should feel good.
So, for my next chapter, I want to talk more about that.
What works. What matters. What the science actually says. What really moves the needle nutritionally.
What I’ve learned from twenty years of working with real skin on real people. And what is probably not worth your money or effort.
That’s what I’m building over at shannon | your face fairy 🦋 … and I’ll be sharing plenty of it here at Shannon | ✨Nutrition Esthetician NYC✨| LE, CNSc too.
So stuck around if you want to hear about what matters, what works, and what you should actually be doing, based on my 20’years of doing this.
Here’s to the next twenty. 🥂
